Hello Everyone, I have been trying to lose weight for the past 7 years, I have joined and rejoined slimming clubs so many times but have failed to keep motivated and lose the weight. I am the heaviest I have ever been and have about 9 stone to lose. I'm so fed up being overweight so I'm trying to take a new angle on it and approach from a healthier eating angle. I'm determined this time not to fall off the wagon after the first week....😊
Newbie! : Hello Everyone, I have been... - Weight Loss Support
Newbie!
Hi, Bluetink , Welcome
Healthier eating - a lifetime healthy-eating balanced diet lifestyle is the way to go.
¿Have you lacked the motivation to count calories, or is appetite the problem?
You can feel hungry because you do not have a balanced diet, and you are eating the wrong foods, e.g. carbohydrates... eating more of the wrong foods will make you fat and may not satisfy your appetite.
Welcome Bluetink. You have come to the right place. I too have a lot of weight to lose and this forum is helping me to adjust to a new healthy eating lifestyle. My trigger for unhealthy eating is all down to my mental attitude so that is what I am working on.
One of our admin members will contact you and provide all the details for newbies.
Have a good week

You're on the right track Bluetink Eating healthy is quite a broad subject but managing portion size is a good step in the right direction. That doesn't simply mean reducing the amount we eat but also means not to eat too little.
Many people fail by causing themselves to feel hungry... our brains and bodies can normally cope with this for a week or two but eventually they rebel and this can often be the cause of yoyo dieting.
If you run the NHS BMI calculator it will provide you with a calorie range to work with that will be tailored specifically for you.
Other aspects of healthy eating can come along at a more gradual pace as we become comfortable and relaxed with each of the changes we make. Basically, I'm trying to say that you needn't worry about trying to change everything at once, as that tends to be something else that our brains rebel against.
Hello, Bluetink, welcome to this lovely community. I am amazed at all the clubs you have joined, I've always been sceptical about those groups as I know from when I lost weight in the 80's that I can lose weight on my own. I think this is a better way now, though as the site provides all the tools and resources and you can get the helpful support from others on the same journey. You can do it!! Just take one step at a time and keep going to reach your goal. Happy healthy eating!
This is the best club in the world Bluetink There's so much encouragement and information and wisdom, and it's all free and open daily. The only requirement is to get involved and encourage others, as the forum runs on mutual support.
