Very overweight unhappy girl here .. just seem to be getting bigger and bigger and it's not good . I know your brain has to be prepared for the weightloss journey you have to make but i find it extremely hard to focus on that and often give up even after 1 day . Please can anyone help me by tips on how to get my brain in gear .
Thanks

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the 12 week plan, as many people have been successful following it. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page, bottom on a mobile.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Unfortunately noone can change your mindset unless you want it yourself. You have taken a leap of faith posting on here and these lovely people will support you as will i. Take heart thst the hardest step is to seek help. Try the 12 week plan forget past experiences and look foreward to a new you. Make small changes and dont set yourself impossible goals. Treat each day as a nrw day if you have a blip accept were only human and its not the end of the world. I have been where you are and appreciate how daunting it can be but keep plodding on and most of all do it for yourself and treat yourself kindly once you learn to love yourself warts and all you will find a difference from within good luck
Leave the brain thing. You are here. You already made a start. Have you ever thought that the mentally preparedness can only be an excuse? There are so many reasons that we choose to rationalize.
Good luck and welcome Scottsgirl on here, good luck with your journey. I used to get bigger and bigger and hated myself before I joined here and always felt that there was something wrong with me cos I hardly ever ate, but always seemed to be the one to put on weight. I am so glad I joined here because I was given advice that I wasn't eating enough. That was why I was putting on the weight, your body thinks it is trying to starve it and turns what bits u do eat into body fat which is heavier than if you eat enough and your body is satisfied. I now eat more every day than ever before and I check my calories to make sure I have eaten enough for me and I am losing weight. It is great. I am so much happier. I hope u haven't been doing this to yourself without admitting it to anyone but if u have like I did, make a change. It works. If u have lots of sugar especially in tea or coffee try and swap these for sweeteners with zero calories, bit by bit. It is slightly awkward to start with but u will get used to it. I done this years ago and at the time lost three stone. It was great. Good luck!
Welcome to the forum, you have made a start by signing up on here and posting, take one day at a time and set small goals that you can easily reach, plan your food ahead. some people reward themselves with something non foody once they have reach their goal. Keep posting on here. You can do this, stay positive Good Luck with your weight loss.
Have you joined a weighin yet? There's one every day so choose which weekly weigh in will suit you. Why not do it today? Just reply to the thread (it's in 'events' if you can't spot it in your news feed) introduce yourself and state your goals, including mini goals starting weight and maybe measurements. Then you will feel accountable. This is the start - just do it!! And come on here every day if you can just to chat and share news - this (for me anyway) is the secret. Good luck!
Thanks everyone for your replies. . I like the idea of "take one day at a time "... one of the worst things for me is lack of excersice so today I'm going out a walk and next step is to get my bike sorted then bike rides soon too.
In the past I have give up to easily, I expect results NOW, so I'll start off by getting through the day the best way I can .. taking it one day at a time. I'll also get myself a weight in day and stick to it .
Thanks again .. now off to have my cup of green tea and my water bottles filled for the day ahead . 😀
Hi it takes a little step by step.. if you give up one day just try the next day day.. keep trying a little every day and your brain will understand you are controlling it.. best of luck .. I know it's hard but you've already started taken control writing this post
