I was hoping you guys could give me help in turning my brain turnaround. How can I stop thinking diet - diet and enjoy everyday life. Before I know it will be winter. I really want to think great thoughts!!!!!. Please help. I just joined a gym and looking forward to the workouts.

Hi. I think to get the best out of the forum you could join the daily dairy or one of the weighins and respond to others and they will respond to you. The support you get when you also give is amazing on here so hopefully that would happen for you too which might help to keep you focused. Good luck 🤞

I have seen how people that give to us get so much back and have lots of followers who seem to really care. It could work for you too. Every Saturday on my weigh in day I look out for people that I know are coming and it matters to me to support them. They support me to and I feel proud when they say well done.

George forget the 2 stone badge, we both have a smaller goal to focus on first!! Getting that 1 stone badge :) once we have that we can start working on the 2 stone badge :)

We will both smash this small goal this week :)

I never think diet, as not really for me.

I do like Healthy meals and Healthy living.

I have been over weight for a long time.

I'm trying to change this with the help of the group forum.

I'm so glad that I have joined.

Wadestreet as EllaMidlands says come and join in the daily diary, it's also great to get ideas on menus and see what others are eating :)

I am not sure on a tablet

but on the computer either scroll down the posts or on right hand side under topics under the pinned posts group and in there is the Daily Diaries

Hi Wadestreet,

I can sympathise with the thought of loosing weight taking over all your brain power, I realise I was getting a bit like this, especially as I wasn't loosing. Joining in with a weigh in day gives you lots of support as you know. Joining the DD will also do that. What I also suggest is you don't think 'diet', think healthy life style as it is really a change for life that you are aiming for. I would then plan your menu, put it on DD, have it written down as well so you can refer to it in the day if you need to, then plan your day and add things in you will enjoy and get on with life. If part of that enjoyment is communicating with people on the forum then come along and join in. Maybe do a post and tell us about a walk you have done or something else that has made you happy during the day.

I hope you enjoy your gym sessions, you come back and tell us what you are doing and may be an inspiration to others :)

yes I am going to the gym today. I guess I never had the confidence to give positivity. But I am going to get on the forum and do my best and help people. I have been on and off weight over 40 years. So I have the experience. Thanks I need to give to receive. And get to know the great people of this great forum and wasted so many months not doing so. Thanks!!

another poster suggested thinking of it as a slimming journey rather than weight loss. The gym will allow you to meet health focused people, but you can't out exercise a poor diet. How about you stick to the NHS 12 week plan? It's so simple there's no need to think about it. Get support from the forum and let us know how you're getting on. Best wishes..

Thank-you. You are right. I am making small changes this coming month. I no longer have snack at night time that was sugary and I am trying this week no supper seconds. I am going to start the gym today. I hope to meet great people and just be healthy!!!!!!!!!!!
