I hope you are recovering well from your recent operation. 💐💐💐
I learnt to comfort eat when my beautiful mum died so I understand the compulsion to reach for the next thing and the anxiety of what is next... without a thought for the consequences...
I can only suggest that you try to make the next thing a healthy option and small portion until you can better learn to receive comfort from non-food items..
Maybe when your more mobile, to get comfort from achieving 1 minute of movement? Then build it up by time and different moves.. I love to dance so I choose a favourite song.. and either play it on my phone or hear it in my head... Only you know what movements are comfortable for you due to your situation- but try to aim for a minute or more of movement before you reach for the food option? It can be a challenge, but one that can be reached.
You have my sympathy as I also have a few health issues, and it does sometimes feel like an insurmountable mountain to climb. 😕
My advice is to tackle one thing at once. You mentioned previously that you have sugar cravings. Maybe today you focus on three healthy meals with no snacks and no added sugar. When you have achieved this, tackle the next issue.
I am not sure what exercise you are able to do, I started out just 10 minutes round the block (with two sticks) Remember every little helps. 😊
