Good morning Mughalnas,

Also welcome 🙂

Soul destroying isn't it when you think your getting somewhere and then you just can't do it anymore and the pounds pile back on.

I think most of us know that feeling. Since joining this group I've realised its not just a diet to get rid of those extra stones and pounds but a learning curve of how to retrain your mind and body about food for life.

So learning something new is sometimes hard and challenging but we get there in the end : )

I've only been with the group about 2 weeks but reading the posts and replies I am learning everyday.

I was living to eat not eating to live. Yes some days can be hard but I think of the successful and determine dedicated people on here who are achieving their goals and knowing they are having to overcome those urge's too.

I've also started to think of the adverts that come on the tv with those poor seriously starving children crying with the pain of real hunger in their little bellies while we sit watching it saying oh god that's awful while conveyor belt feeding ourselves with sweet tasting treats or piled high plate.

( heck.... Actually writing that down has given myself another hard kick up the backside!!!!)

So please stick with us here and I'm sure you will succeed 🙂

Good luck with you weight loss journey.

Hello Mughalnas and welcome to the forum. Those are all really positive reasons to lose weight. Many of us on the forum are interested in living a healthier lifestyle and of course losing weight is a part of that, but it is also getting ourselves into the right mind set - it sounds like you have made a good start. I have found the NHS 12 week plan to be an excellent starting point and it deals extensively with the idea of breaking bad habits and creating a healthier lifestyle.

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread.

Look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating.

Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you follow Lowcal and Moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration.

I wish you much luck and determination. :)
