I'm just new on here although my problem with food has been going on for years! I have tried everything under the sun and lost weight, gained weight, lost it again and you will know the rest!
I really want to get into the zone again and lose it slowly and properly this time. I am finding it so hard to leave food alone and I am totally bamboozled by all the various sites offering advice, etc etc but I just want to do this properly so any advice or help would be fantastic or I think I will be using superglue to keep my mouth shut π€ thanks xxx

Hi. I have also lost and gained over the years. I eat to the replace the lack of security I feel and to make myself better.i have always been strong for others and so people assume I don't need support.im starting my journey again from today and would be happy to chat and give support.we can all do it.the only thing stopping us is ourselves.
Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community, and I'd also like to say welcome to you Bullard .
Have you seen the Welcome Newbies post yet? It's worth a read, and it's in the Pinned posts area - right-hand-side of the homepage. Many of us follow the NHS 12 week plan as it is sensible and easy to follow, and you can basically tailor it to suit your own requirements.
We have various Challenges going on in the forum, and again, the Pinned posts will be the place to look at those, if you want to. Maybe join in with the Monday group weigh-in - if you'd like to be part of a supportive group who weight in regularly.
Wishing you an excellent week, and good luck with your goals.
hi. Like most people on here we all know how to lose weight and have many diet books in our cupboards which we have all followed - lost weight - got bored - went back to old eating habits - put weight back on. so you are not alone there ....
I'm a newbie to this site but not to dieting and my main advice is just be patient when u start. I know its easier said than done because in the past I know I've focused on the scales and how quickly the weight came off... but we need to learn to focus more on how we feel and look rather than how much you weigh. This is what I'm doing and im feeling positive that I might actually do it this time. Also maybe start an activity you enjoy to get u more active.. I love swimming and do it more now.
I'm following a low carb diet at the moment which is pretty easy to follow really and it also makes you cook a lot more from scratch with fresh healthy ingredients and ensures u cut down on processed foods.
Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom! It is so hard and my willpower used to be fab but it's just non existent now! I will find the newbies forum and have a look π thank you π I am just at that 'cannot seem to motivate myself' stage just now xxx
