Hi, and happy Friday. What is the best advice if one is trying to diet and yet gets hunger pangs? I am eating more protein and that advice really helped.

Have you done your BMI check on here and noted the amount of calories the range is is what you should be eating - I personally have not gone over the highest range and have felt I have had enough

Yes there have been times I have craved food and certain things and they would have put me well over

You have to make sure you are eating the right food etc

What are you eating and quantities? unless you let us know that we won't be able to help you - if you want to PM me instead of putting it on the forum I will be willing to help you

Thank you. I will do the BMI check. I try to eat the recommended quantities as on the food packaging. I do have a lot of weight to lose and have to avoid comfort eating.

I struggle with this aswell, i think cos i also have alot of weight to lose, and so my body just needs more food than a slim person to keep going. when everything is going to plan i have three normal sized meals and three small snacks (eg. 50g hummus and a stick celery), plus a banana in the night if im hungry then. sounds alot but it is a normal amount of food, and i do lose weight on it. if im hungry between these times i drink water as im often just thirsty.

Thank you very much and good luck 🍀to you. xx

An alternative idea is to try a different diet - I do the Low Carb High Fat diet and pretty much never feel hungry. If you want to take a look try dietdoctor.com which will give you the basics. I still have to struggle occasionally with wanting chocolate or sweets, but this diet has helped me immensely and I've lost 3 stone (- still have a lot to lose) and as a type 2 diabetic my blood sugar readings are all pretty much normal now so long as I stick to the principles of the diet.

Good luck with your journey.

Hi, I found high fibre foods keep me fuller for longer.

Hello :) I always get hungry about 10:30/11am. so I plan a snack I'm as part of my calorie allowance. usually fruit plus some nuts or a rice cake :) just something to nibble with a coffee or glass of water and on the days where I don't get hungry, I don't have them and just leave them until the following day :) this usually helps keep me going to lunch! and I save a bit of fruit for the afternoon too :) this way I avoid getting so hungry that I buy bad food just to fill the gap! I also just drink lots of water when I'm hungry but lunch time is close!
