First day......
Hi Angela62
How many calories are you aiming for per day.
Have you checked your BMI on the NHS website which will also give you a range of calories for your height current weight activity level etc. Most usually work to the lower end of the scale initially to kick start weightloss.
Just a thought๐
Thanks for your reply, yes done the BMI daily 1,561 to 2,007. I only saw this web site half hour ago so not started yet, I'm going to have small tea and hopefully start properly tomoz, what's a good breakfast?
Hi Angela
You can have what you normally have as long as you count them in your daily allowance. I'm not a milk fan so I have toast with butter and marmite.
I can eat porridge but not my first choice. You can add fruit to porridge ie banana, blackberries, blueberries.
This morning I had a bacon sandwich however the bacon was grilled opposed to fried. I have just counted it into my daily allowance.
Although I count calories it really is about healthy eating. No food is off limits. However it's important to reduce sugars and carbs. Also the way you cook.
It becomes easier as time goes on.
Have you downloaded My fitness pal that's a useful app.
Just keep reading all the posts and you will be able to pick various tips and things up. Including exercise tips meal suggestions and most of all others successful journeys and the frustrations surrounding when we are not doing so well that may be when your stuck at the same weight for a few weeks or slight gains. It happens.
It's a real inspiration ๐
Hope that helps a little ๐
Yes that helps a lot as I was counting point with WW, porridge tomorrow. ๐
Hi Angela,
Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum! It's a great place for inspiration, motivation and support in your venture to lose weight!.
It's great that you've already printed off the NHS 12 Week Plan - it's a great thing to follow
Take a look at the right hand side of your screen (bottom if you're on a mobile device) at the 'pinned posts' area - here is a collation of various useful posts (such as the 'Welcome Newbie' post and challenges that are currently being run on the forum - take part in what ever you want to)
In that 'Pinned Posts' section, there is also a collation of recipe ideas, they will always come in useful too
The Monday Weigh In group is posted weekly, Zest and moreless , who are also our approachable site admins alternate the posting of the thread between them. There is a morning thread (if you weigh in between 06:30 until midday) and an afternoon/evening thread (from midday on Monday until 6pm on the Friday of that week). It's going on today, so why not go and post your starting weight, if you are comfortable doing so there, and you'll get a response from myself or another member of the Fab 5!
The topics section, underneath the 'pinned posts' area will give you all of the posts related to that topic - it's useful if you're looking for something specific!
Finally, all that remains is to wish you a great first week on the forum!
Best wishes,
Rob

I love porridge so will have that tomorrow thanks for the info very useful ๐
Heya, dont worry, its a learning process. Have you rationed out max calories roughly for each meal and snack? Its easier to stay under your allowance that way. โบ
No but that makes sense thankyou ๐
Hi Angela
