Calorie counting 😬😬😬

β€’9 Replies

Only on week 2 and I'm fed up of counting calories already, this is the first time I've had to do it so I'm wondering of anyone knows any good apps/sites for doing this. I've got my fitness pal and it's ok but just wondering if there's anything else ???

As I have a Samsung phone I have an app called S Health. You log the food ( it has database of foodstuffs) and it works out their calorie content and nutritional value for you.

It couldn't be easier, I think, and doing this is making the world of difference to me. I can easily see how I am doing for the day and see charts of my progress.

It also helps me plan meals as I can see if my fat intact for the day is high or my protein intake is low.

I remember seeing someone using one of these apps and thinking it wasn't for me, now however I cannot imagine not using it and I wish I had started using it long ago!

Good luck! You can log other things with it too, like water and coffee consumption, and exercise.

I think Marina65 is right - I've never counted calories and hence put weight on! I'm useless at numbers and the amount of times I've nearly starved myself when looking at KJ's and not Kcals (why are they there) I can't count! I feel harassed and overcome when writing all this stuff down, but I decided that it was worth it, if I want to lose the weight. I can't be trusted to just "guess", so sometimes I just make a note on a scrappy bit of paper, but then I do write everything down in a little book - just so I know I'm not cheating on myself. It has worked for me. The agonising decision over whether to eat a banana and wipe out steps just taken....! Keep at it, you'll get into a pattern.

Thanks for the reply :)

I won't lie it does bother me writing everything down but I'm sticking at it (much as it annoys me) I lost 3 pound the first week so it's obviously doing me good. Just need to get used to a different way of doing things I guess

If you prefer there is an eating plan that counts portions 😊 I'm sorry I can't seem to get the links to work. One is called "BHF facts not Fads" and the other is "nhs guide to portion sizes"

Good luck
