Hello, I did really well with loosing a stone and now just completely given up. I do have mental health complications and I guess I use that a lot as an excuse, but I need to loose more weight. Please help with items if how to motivate myself.

How can I get the motivation to exercise? Please help.
Hi Rosiestar,
You're asking about some help with motivation to exercise - I would say it's important to think of things that you'll potentially 'enjoy' - but sometimes it can help just to try out 5 minutes of something, because it's only when we actually start doing something, that you can get a sense of whether you actually enjoy it or not, and doing it then motivates you to continue. e.g. You might not 'feel like' walking, but when you do go out for a walk, even for just 10 minutes, then you can then 'feel better' and good about the fact you did it!
There are some great resources here, for doing some exercise in the home too, it's the NHS Fitness Studio exercises, so you might find something there that you fancy trying?

Good luck with it, and please join us in any Challenges that are going on in the forum currently - have a look through the Pinned posts and the Events sections (both on the right-hand-side of the homepage) and if you've not yet read our Welcome Newbie post, then please do, as it can be very motivating to read the things that past and current members have said about the forum, and what helps us along our weight loss journeys.
Wishing you a great weekend, it's nearly here!
Lowcal
Good morning Rosiestar 😊
I agree with lowcal about finding a form of exercise you enjoy. I like music so this motivates me, really lifts the spirits to just dance around the sitting room!! 😊 I also like to be outdoors, and agree with lowcal, I often set out to go for just ten minutes and find I've been gone half an hour!
What do you like doing? Would a class environment suit you better? My daughter likes the sociability of the gym, I prefer the privacy of my own home. We are all different, it's what suits you. 😊
Remember, losing weight is more about eating properly than exercising, but exercise can help your mental health 😊 Good luck
I liked playing the music in the house great way to dance and get it clean. Mall walking is good know one will bother you and you can get some Christmas shopping done early. A stationary bike is wonderful, put it in your bedroom watch TV or listen to music or a book recorded. Burns lot's of calories. Trend mills are great also but more pricey. Horse back riding is fantastic but if your a home body this might not be the activity for you. Getting a dog and walking it is a great excuse to get out and save a life of one that will be put sleep at the pound. They soon to to be your be friend.
Best Wishes
Hi Rosiestar, Is there anyone you can exercise with, that way you will have someone to encourage you, and you would be letting them down by not going to whatever exercise class groups you choose to do?
