Hi folks,I'm your typical yoyo dieter getting nowhere.I'm currently desperately trying to lose weight to enable knee surgery for osteoarthritis to go ahead, then some more for my general health's sake. The only thing I've not tried in the past is a health forum,so here goes.!! Things can only get better.

Hello Stopstarter 😊Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. It’s great that you’ve joined. Many of us can appreciate the yoyo of dieting! 😊

Take a look at the Pinned Posts section, to the right of your screen (bottom, if you're using a mobile) and have a look at the Welcome Newbies thread. 😊 It's also a good idea to check your BMR and find a target daily calorie range, eating too little can be counter productive. 😊

Look at the Topics section beneath that, for posts that could answer any questions you may have. Consider joining any, or all, of our challenges, as they're fun and motivating. 😊

Join us for the Monday Group weigh-in. If you follow Lowcal and Moreless (our very approachable site Admins), you'll be notified when they post the threads. The latest weigh-in thread can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the home page.

Be active on the forum, as that's where we exchange ideas and get our daily dose of motivation and inspiration.

I hope you dnjoy the forum, good luck with your goals. 😊

Thank you 😊 My journey has been a bit "stop-start" also!! Lol 😊 Currently back on track following a three month break for health reasons, and boy! Is it a struggle!! Lol 😊

As we say on here, onwards and downwards! 😊

Welcome Stopstarter, you are in good company here and I have found that being a member of this forum has been a real help in my weight loss journey.

Here is the Welcome Newbie thread that is full of lots of hints and tips and inspiring stories and also has ideas of ways you can interact with this community: healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

I found it so useful to join in on the challenges as they are fun and keep me motivated, so look out for those (located under the Pinned Posts section).
