Trying not to be disappointed with this week's weigh in as I know I couldn't match last week's loss. Why when you know the reasons do those numbers on the scales have such an impact?! On 4 out of the last 7 days I was not at home and trying to mix and match as best I could, I had hoped all the extra walking I did would offset the fish and chips etc!
It's week 3 today so onwards and downwards!!😀😀

We are always keen to see an instant result from all the extra effort we have made in the way of exercise and restraint in our eating, but our bodies don't always co-operate!
Extra exercise builds muscle which offsets the weight of the fat lost. Also, fluid levels fluctuate - whether you have drunk recently or perspired a lot, all affects the figure on the scales.
Tell yourself you have done really well to be still on the downward trend...you didn't gain the weight at more than a few ounces each week, and it is a healthy way to lose it, slowly so your skin can shrink back and you won't be left with any saggy bits!
Get focussed on next week's recipes, and an action plan to keep yourself busy and moving. Stay positive; you are adapting to a new way of life, and it is working!
Hi Dartmoor Dumpling has given you some good advice there.
I have found that the umpteen times before when I 'dieted' I got so obsessed with the scales and would loose so much then get fed up as I wasn't loosing as much as before.
Now with this change of eating 'for life' I am so much more relaxed about it and I only weigh myself every 2 weeks as this is what I can cope with.
It doesn't matter how much you loose so long as it's not too much of a gain and building up muscle adds weight whilst we are burning the fat off.
Don't panic breathe deeply and plan your day, week etc I am sure you will see a downward trend coming your way and there are so many more people who can advise you well I am sure.
I agree with Bec, it's not just about the numbers on the scales nac150 😊
Hi Nac
This happens to us all. The little thing that runs through my mind and I fall back to when I stick on the scales is what someone posted on this site and so true
"it didn't take a few weeks to put the weight on therefore you won't loose the weight in a few weeks"
So so true. Next week should be positive ☺
That's still half a lb in the right direction. Small loses can be frustrating but it is a loss, so you should be proud, especially if you haven't been sticking to your diet. Even though you did extra walking I find the main thing with weight loss is to do with food; although exercise is still very important and plays it's role.
Measure out 1/2 a lb of butter .... you won't be carrying that around anymore !!!
I would recommend you measure and note down some vital body measurements. When my weight has stayed the same or I've lost small amounts ..... ive lost inches xx
Onwards and downwards...your going in the right direction ⤵
