Gall stones

Hi, I've just been diagnosed with gall stones and inflamed gall bladder. Doc has recommended a fat free diet whilst I wait for op to remove my gall bladder. I want to lose approx 2 1/2 stone anyway so fat free will help. Anyone else had gall stone or gall bladder issues. Do you have to eat low fat for life? Was thinking of doing high fat low carb but probably not a good idea now 😁. Any tips or advice greatly welcomed.

Argh, you have my sympathy, gallbladder pain is the worst!

A low fat diet really does help, but I also found I was unable to eat beans or green veggies while mine was playing up.

Getting that beggar out was the best thing ever - I can eat what I like now and no issues with fat or anything.

People's experiences do differ though.

Fingers crossed you don't suffer too much pain while you await the op.

Thanks, had a few really bad nights but not for a little while. I do wake every morning feeling very quesy with pain under my ribs. I'm lucky as I have private health care in work so wait for op shouldn't be too long.

I had the same, low fat diet worked for me, cheese was the worse culprit (my favourite!!) I still get bothered if i have too much fat such as big breakfast but mostly manage ok now as I eat smaller portions 😊 Good luck with op 😊

It was so good when I got rid of mine last August. I found that stopping eating lamb dishes really helped me . Since the op I can eat most things but find that lamb still gives me some billery type pain
