Hi everyone, I've been following the my weight matters run by the NHS for almost 7 weeks and have nearly lost a stone. I wondered if any of you had any ideas for desserts in the evening. I have been having lots of fruit, fat free yogurt and sugar free jelly but am trying to ring alternatives. Any low fat ideas welcome 😊

Hi MerLouG, well done for your success to date, that's really good going
I'm afraid I don't eat desserts, but I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for in our recipe post
I have to have pudding every evening. Just my body expects something sweet! Mine are usually:
Sugar free jelly - 5 cals.
Grapes - sometimes frozen. Around 70 cals.
Light cereal bar - alpen light or Tesco healthy living. Both under 70 cals.
Chocolate biscuit. Blue riband and breakaway are 99 cals each.
Sorbet is good, calories vary with flavours.
The chocolate mousse from Aldi is only 89 calories per pot, I eat that if I am craving a sugar hit!
Thank you all for your replies. So kind 😊
If you have an over-ripe banana, try splitting it down one side and pop in the microwave for a couple of minutes - the skin will turn black but the banana will bake beautifully. Serve with a small scoop of ice cream and a little sprinkle of grated chocolate on top...a lovely quick and tasty pudding!
Baked apples stuffed with a little mincemeat are a good low-fat pudding, and another is to serve a ready-made pancake with some cherry pie-filling inside, warmed for 40 secs in the microwave and served with a little ice-cream - delicious.
Hi Morrsons do mini meringues at 15cals each I sometimes have 2 of them with fresh fruit on like a satsuma and banana and a squirt of light scream the one in the can that is about 30cals all adds upto 210 calories but it is easy to split into 2 smaller bowls so you have one with dinner and one as a snack later if you need it. Ok if you have a sweet tooth.
How about half fat creme fruit mixed with broken meringue nest and fresh strawberries. Skinny version of Eton Mess. Yummy!
Walls, are now doing 50% less sugar and fat ice cream, 2 scoops 62 cals. I add a jelly with it to
This is THE best vegan chocolate mousse ever. Not very low fat, in the sense that it's avocado based (not that you'd know to taste it!) but it's all, entirely, GOOD fats. And so delicious. So, so good. My children and even my anti-vegan, meat-eating father, all absolutely love it.
