But fat free yoghurt is yummy and I always feel virtuous after eating it π But I do empathse. Help is on its way, from wiser heads than mine, another newbie. You are sure of a warm welcome and plenty of support, I know that much. Just have a wander round, get your bearings and congrats for having done the difficult bit.....joining in.
I know fat free loveky but full of more bad than good! So this is all about calorie counting not low fat?
People on here follow a variety of different diets - all weight loss is going to involve some sort of calorie restriction, some of us do explicitly count calories, others not.
So whether are you drawn to low fat, or low carbs or something in-between you'll find people here doing the same approach, and support and encouragement from everyone
This is the dilemma confused before i begin thank you for taking time to reply cant fins the weekly planner to print off how to start, i find having a paper copy with me in tow helps!
It;s on the home page but easy to miss as most people just go straight to the posts
here's a copy of the link
Take a deep breath. You are in the right place. All things will become clear and you are among friends. These are the small, twiddly things, they will sort themselves out. You will be fine and I need all the newbie friends I can get. Stay, consolidate and ..... breathe. Look forward to hearing from you again. Take care.
Phew, you rode in just in the nick of time. I was up to my neck. I know nothing but I do care. You are a starβοΈ
I'm getting the impression that calories could be king. I am going the bmi daily calorie route but there's also a 12 week plan you could look at. You sound motivated, active and already with a foundation of fitness to build upon. You can't fail to succeed.
I'm an old crock. There are much younger, wiser people on this forum. Minniewinny is very approachable and doesn't bite! She lovely. And very knowledgable. So is YellowRose55
I used to be a fitness instructor, gave it all up in favour of a good walk in the fresh air, with my dog and slowly found it wasn't enough. I tore my hamstring in two places last year, felt my hip joint leave it's socket and 12 months later, still can't run. Even in an emergency. But I'm here, I'm one week in and I'm on the journey to a lighter healthier me. But I'm very conscious that it's not the destination that counts. I'm not 'treading water ' for however long it takes and there's no great personal metamorphosis at the end. Im me, today, tomorrow and for always. I matter now and I will matter when I finish. Bon chance.
Ah thanks i am training for a half marathon October Royal Parks London need the excesss off so running gets back to baseline
So impressed at your goals. I did a cancer walk ( ok stroll ) in one of the great parks a few years ago but I really wanted to run with the pack. One day at a time, that one day will never come again. I'm not suggesting that you live each day in a 'jazz hands' way but take a moment. And it's the journey, not the destination ( grasshopper ) Now I'm really showing my age, did you feel the whoosh as it passed over your head?
