I really have to watch my portion control - my "healthy" breakfast of fruit, cereal and yogurt would have been great if I had not been quite so generous with the fruit and yogurt - the weighing and measuring makes a huge difference, so must get back in that habit if I want to get down in those 12's!

Too generous a portion of "healthy" food!
I agree it is so easy to forget portion size especially if you are feeling really peckish. I am using scales when I can and trying to imagine the portion plate for meat/veg/potatoes etc when having a main meal although I have nearly cut out potatoes altogether. Seeing as you have done so well with your weight loss I am finding the yoghurt (goodness in them) difficult to understand sugar fat free etc. Could you tell me if you have found the best one to include for goodness calories etc. Thanks Bev
I use a lot of the Muller Light pots and sometimes Activia - I like a bit of variety so don't always buy the same brand. Last time I bought some of the bigger Onken pots, but found it is too easy to serve up a large portion when you are not limited by pot size, and yogurt is a bit messy to weigh out ....also I keep being tempted by the odd spoonful if I have an open pot of yogurt in the fridge so need to stick to the little individual pots.
Thanks I have tried the Activa like them as they have lumps of fruit in them, but I will have a bash at the muller light ones, it is amazing the difference in calories in them all. Thanks for answering, hope you have a good day😊
Natural plain yoghurt usually has about 6 grams of sugar per 100 grams, any more than that probably means added sugar, which is what you want to avoid if you can. A good yoghurt will just contain milk and live cultures, which are good for the health of your gut.
Yes, when losing weight, scales are your best friend! I've just finished a big bowl of alpen, branflakes and yogurt. All weighed and very much enjoyed. But thinking back to my previous portions I still get surprised. Its very easy to eat more cereal than needed!
When I first started this plan I was astounded by the difference in calories in the portion of meals I would normally have dished up and what I actually needed to stay within my daily allowances. The surprising thing was, that looking at the correct plate I would think 'that doesn't look much' but after eating it I realised I was satisfied and it was enough. I have become a bit compulsive about weighing and measuring now I'm afraid, I even took the kitchen scales on a self catering holiday with me! Good luck for getting in the 12's onwards and downwards!
Absolutely the key, weighing everything until we are certain we can accurately judge 😊 You are doing really well, you'll soon be in those size 12s 😊
