You can average about 1lb a week, depending on how your diet is now, I've no idea what your ideal bmi weight should be?
Check out the NHS weight loss 12 week plan, lots will guide and help you
You might lose 2 or 3lbs in the first week (as you will lose a lot of water), and then 1 to 2lbs a week after that if you stick to 1400 calories daily, drink plenty of water, fruit teas etc and fit as much activity into your day as you can - take the stairs, climb hills, do some sport, whatever suits you and your lifestyle. That way you will be super-fit to enjoy your holiday.
You're only 9lbs over the ideal range within the BMI calculation. Dieting causes all sorts of issues with the way our bodies work subsequently as it tends to lower our base metabolic rate so we get fatter more easily afterwards. Can you up your activity level and maybe do some exercise to change the bits of your body you're not very happy with currently? You could cut out all added sugars and alcohol for six weeks and see what that does. As your body doesn't need those at all. Perhaps think of eating more of the right things so that they crowd the wrong things off your plate. I don't know if you are a vege fan. But if you had one or two extra veg on evey plate of food you eat, and switched to lean meats etc. You would perhaps not need snacks. It is also worth learning what a portion of food should be. Portions and plates have got bigger over the years. Many are double or 50% bigger than they used to be. So it is worth eating off smaller plates. I tend to eat 100g of most proteins. This is often half a steak. 40g of cheese, or, in some situations, less. Start measuring oil you add to fry, roast or use as dressings. You need a minimum of 2 teaspoons a day, but if we are just pouring it into pans etc, who knows how much we are getting? Start replacing chocolate bars, biscuits and cakes with fruit. 80g is a reasonable portion. If you start being food aware, then you might be able to avoid the relentless yo-yo dieting which has become a feature of so many older women's lives. We lose the weight for about a year and then steadily put it all back on and usually a stone extra before we start dieting again.
I'm in a similar situation to yourself as in I'm on here to lose weight for an upcoming holiday. I think if you really put your mind to it 12 pounds 2 pounds a week?
