Aren't you getting help and advice from the hospital? Thought what /how much you ate prior to surgery was vital?

To answer your question, many people do lose that amount of weight, iit is possible, so of course you can do it! 😊

Good luck!

You would have to be determined, try cutting out simple carbs, you have to be brutal but you can eat lots of veg, above ground sort and limit fruit. Check with hospital first.

Be careful about all those hidden calories and do not fall off the wagon. Do not drink alcohol whatever weightwatchers etc say, on a fast diet it is a sin. Remember even after a band if you eat biscuite's, cakes and chocolate, high fat food you will become very ill and malnourished and possibly not lose the weight as fast. A band is a diet with painful punishment if you do eat.

If you lose weight fast this month, you have to ask yourself do you need a band or have you conditioned yourself to eating a more healthy diet by filling up on complex veg based carbs and good quality protien. Breki think no simple carbs, eat some fruit with an egg, not together lol. Lunch, eat that fish, a can of tuna a day with some salad or pickled veg etc ;) Evening meal, lean meat or fish with lots of green stuff nothing after 7pm. Add your own spices, no processed etc. I also cut out cheese altogether which was my downfall to putting weight on, no longer craving and 5 weeks and 4 days into the diet and down 16.5lb. Maintain at least 250ml of skimmed milk to get the calcium. Drink water and normal drinks, tea and coffee, keep the fluids up. Up your exercise, I dance 3 times a day :) by myself in front of a mirror :(

Think massive fat reduction because if you have the gastric bypass eating fat will make you very very ill. take omega 3.

Good luck :)

It's very possible, depending on your diet now, will depend on how easy it is, as the previous post said seek help.

Good luck!

Hi Sarahemma40,

Welcome to the forum. It's a friendly and supportive community and I hope you will find the support and encouragement you are seeking here. I know you are due to have a gastric bypass and you'd like to lose 10 pounds in a month.

Please have a look at our Welcome Newbie post, which a lovely forum member called Moreless has put together:

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

We have a Monday group weigh-in session if you would like to join in with that for a large group support kind of setting. Details of the weigh-ins are in the Welcome Newbie post, but you can also access the link to the latest thread via the Events section (right-hand-side of homepage).

Wishing you success with your goal, and I hope you have a great week.

Lowcal :-)

p.s. Definitely get as much support from the hospital regarding this as possible, I am presuming you are hopefully receiving appropriate medical support, but if not, then please do seek that - it is important to receive good support.
