Lost motivation

In mid 2015 I decided to diet and exercise regularly but I lost motivation and gave in as I didn't seem to be loosing any weight. It would be great if some of you could tell me a good way to get myself motivated. Thanks.

This was me last week! However I've since become motivated again, after looking at old photos of me and me getting in clothes that are way to big for me now. But I've also started exercising more particularly swimming because I enjoy it. Last year the weight came off just with calorie counting however I figure if I exercise more I can eat that bit more also!

Keep at it, and you will lose that weight! Think of how good you will feel once you get to your goal weight.

You should join us for the monday group weigh-in, to keep you accountable.

Other than that, my advice is to log onto the forum as often as possible, because it's always motivating :)

Hi Benn18, welcome to the forum, you've already been given loads of good advice, but to keep motivated you've got to keep thinking just why you started trying to lose weight in the first place. Plus you really have to be " ready" to do it for YOU! It's a commitment, but it'll be so..... worth it! Keep visiting the forum, and writing posts, it really helps! We're all in the same boat! Good luck! :)

I find using exercise goals are very motivational. Things like setting myself 20mins on a exercise bike at a moderate/challenging level and then seeing what distance I can achieve - I find I push myself much harder than I normally would have and I can regularly break my personal best, and I have progressed loads from where I started a month back now. I find I make much quicker 'gains' with these measures and it keeps me running back to the gym for more!!

Good luck with getting yourself going again:)
