Hi chinky, I think most people would say they have times when losing weight when it all seems to go out the window. You have to think about why you wanted to lose weight in the first place and what you have lost so far. Think about the lovely body you will have and how much more fun it will be to buy something new to wear. Losing weight is really hard work as it is easy to use food as a reward, a comfort and a companion and I did all of these. Maybe try to give yourself a little reward or a goal that is small and achievable and then set the next goal. The exercise especially has a feel good factor as you get fitter. Good luck and keep going, it's really worth it!
Thank you Elizahanna, your reply is spot on. I've had a bit of a blip this week and only exercised twice, but been over my food allowance twice too. Your advice has given me the kick up the behind that was needed - thank you
I have stopped binging and I will repeat the week 5 jus call it part 2 I was 18 stones last year and currently 13.10 I hope to be a slim healthy 10 but only time wil tel I hope to stick to it and I want to get bak on track yesterday and today I have excel sized, this week I have walked 6hours none stop up nd down
Well done, you have lost an amazing amount of weight so far it's great you are back on track. It's not always easy, so Good luck, small steps and don't forget to reward yourself!
Right me old mate. Myth busting time. I've come over from Fibro.
You seem to be punishing yourself. You've achieved a lot in a short time and by that I would think you need to hug yourself. I think it's likely the next couple of stone will be harder to lose. I'm guessing you're male from your avatar, if so1900 cal or so is quite low. Please make sure that what you do eat is well balanced in terms of nutrition.
MYTH. People get overweight because they don't exercise. WRONG. People don't exercise because they're overweight.
Exercise is important but it's not the only means to weight control. And DONT OVERDO IT to the point you make yourself ill in other ways or simply demoralised.
I seem to see you getting hooked up on numbers. Don't count calories down to the last one. And don't get obsessive about how and when you measure. If you try the experiment of weighing yourself several times a day and keep notes you will see it fluctuate over the course of a day and over a week. Those little ups are NOT IMPORTANT. It's the overall trend. Once a week is fine. With clothes is fine. Shoes off is good as shoes can add a lot but the important thing is do it the same time of day within an hour or so as you then get consistency. Once a week should be enough. Don't stress over the odd increase of a pound or 2 as long as the tend is generally downwards.
The odd break in the campaign is ok too. The replies above are spot on.
Give yourself credit for doing so well and perhaps its time to take a break. I've lost 35lb in a year but that's not a patch on what you've done. Well Done. I think you really have no problem at the moment. Keep in touch please. PM if you prefer.
