12 Weeks Done!

I have completed the 12-week plan and am delighted to report a 35.5lb weight loss, about a third of the total I need to lose in order to be out of the obese BMI range.

I can now paint my toenails, scrub my own back and walk briskly without becoming pink and breathless.

My workouts at the gym have increased massively and I enjoy a full range of cardio and strength exercises as well as daily brisk walks out in the fresh air. Perhaps in another 12 weeks my frame won't be too heavy and I will be able to go running again.

I still have a long way to go but know now that I can do it – thanks everyone for the support on this forum, you got me through some difficult patches and gave my exercise a boost with fun challenges.

2016 is going to be great – bring it on!

Thank you Lucca - yep, Christmas isn't going to derail me!

What a great post. So positive and uplifting. The sort of post that gives me strength. What makes your post so special, is that, it does not focus on the number on the scales, moreover, it focuses on the shear enjoyment of added stamina, agility, mobility and spirit.

Fantastic!

Have a great Christmas :)

Thanks Moreless, I lost a lot at the beginning, but it has settled down to a sensible amount now and I just have to keep going.

May I ask a silly question, how you follow the plan? As I have non of motivated at all 😔.

Hi Lampookie, that isn't a silly question at all!

Basically, sign up on this page:

nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss...

and you will get sent a weekly motivational email and a sheet to fill in of your exercise and calories. It is that easy!

Also, join in on the forum here where we do a weekly weigh-in on Mondays and there is a daily exercise challenge based on "Around the World in 80 Days", which is great fun (and really motivating).

I hope I have helped, but if not click on the green button on the right at the top, that says "Write a Post" and put the question to the whole forum (it might be missed here as this is an old thread) and you will get many more replies.

Above all, welcome and good luck!

You are so positive it took you 12 weeks to feel better and yet you are continuing to go further you are so right. Just keep going forward it is the only way to loose weight. Enjoy the new you. Thanks for encouraging me! Yes we do go up on the scale but just keep moving forward and than hopefully I will see the scales will go down and I will be back to my skinny self again!

The scales can be deceptive, but they aren't the whole picture, feeling fitter and slimmer is also as important. I have a long journey ahead, so I needed to be reminded of this - thank you!

Good luck on your journey, I am sure you will succeed!

I am so glad you are saying that the scales are deceiving as I am just gaining weight but you are so right just keep on eating healthier and doing exercise that is the main thing as I will feel healthier and fitter! Thanks for reminding me.

Thanks Jenever - the outside world cannot see my weight loss yet (that is how big I am), but I can certainly feel it. 2016 is going to be fabulous - I am going to do lots of new things as I get more and more able, yay!

That is a fantastic amount to loose.

Thanks Aqua, it was helped by good losses at the beginning, but has now settled into a regular 1.5-2lb loss which is great. Just got to keep at it!

Wow - that's amazing. Quite inspirational .... creeps back to morning coffee in awe!

Well done and all the very best for a trim and happy 2016!
