12 Weeks Done (maybe a few more)

Start weight 107.5kg

Current weight 91kg

Okay so after 12 or maybe just over 12 weeks and I've lost 16.5kg which is amazing. I have to say ive learnt a few things along the way which may help fellow people on their journey!

I began by cutting out breakfast so I could have a bigger lunch for the first few weeks. It was worth it as I felt more satiated at dinner time and then had a meal after work.

I then removed lunch and more or less started intermittent fasting - I wouldn't eat from 10 at night to 4/4.30pm and would come home and have a large but healthy meal. Once this became a habit it really worked and clicked and I got used to it. While IF I would only have a coffee with milk and no sugar.

With regards to gym, I aim for 4 or 5 days per week doing 3 days cardio 2 days weights. My cardio session is 30 to 40 minutes of HIT training I dont do more. I aim for maximum HR as this really saves time in the gym!

After gym I have a healthy meal such as a breaded fish or wholemeal bread with cottage cheese.

I've got 16.5kg to go to my target weight so fingers crossed I can keep up.

Oh and yes I do get the random weekend takeaway craving and I allow myself a nice greasy meal once a week so as to not give up entirely.

Just remember it's all about long term, consistently keeping and sticking to your resolve no matter what. No one will look out for you more than you. Make small changes that you can stick to instead of relapsing after a few days.

Finally, the affects of losing so much weight are incredible! I feel more mobile, energetic, alert, self confident, and also get loads of compliments, its deffo worthwhile.

Ps..I removed any junk from my house so I cant just open a cupboard and start binging when I'm stressed or on the couch it really helps.

I hope this helps someone out there :) wish me luck!

Well done, zafzafzaf, will you be rejoining a weigh-in, so that you can benefit from the support and offer ongoing support to others?

Well done. That is an amazing job.

Have you made changes to what you eat? For me, eating less frequently came naturally when I significantly reduced my carb intake, so it wasn't a battle or something I set out to do.

How about joining a weekly weigh in team over the weekend, and using the Daily Diary for ideas on meal planning? This will help you find them healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Hi Janer, it's not as difficult as you think, for me the most important thing is to build up slowly week on week, start by missing breakfast and eating more at lunch, then having a late lunch until you get to no lunch at all. I only follow this mondays to fridays and have more regular meals on the weekend.

The other important thing is to avoid any sugary foods while fasting even a tea or coffee with sugar will give you a 30 minute boost followed by a really big urge to eat. Hope this helps!

I think I will give it a go. I have lost 7kg in 8 weeks by cutting sugar and carbs but starting to plateau now. I sleep very early as single mum 2 kids age 4 and 3 do I can be in bed by 8. Perhaps my fasting window should be 8pm TIL 3pm.

One more question ...what do you think of eating right before bed?

It makes no difference to me, I think the fasting will help you beat the plateu. If I'm fasting I normally eat around 4 or 5 and then late evening after gym...be careful not to eat too much though
