I NEED to lose weight, I'm getting really unhappy and I'm running out of clothes! I have no willpower either so I'm hoping to find likeminded people so we can boost each other :)

Hi and welcome Wimbo :)

You've made a brilliant first step joining this forum, it's full of people feeling exactly as you do and doing everything they can to change things :)

If you wish, you can join us in the weigh-in thread, which is a great place for accountability, support and inspiration. Take your time to read the thread and see what a friendly place this is :)

If you haven't decided on a health eating plan, have a look at the NHS 12 week plan and see if that's the way you want to go.

Hey :) ive started following the threads and am already feeling a little more positive about things. Ive already downloaded the 12 week planner and am starting week 1 today.......My main problem is I work full time and have 2 kids and by the time I get to sit down of an evening it's 9pm and im too shattered to exercise....... that and the unhealthy eating. I'm hoping that watching my calories and keeping them in check and the exercise i do around the house is going to help me lose this unwanted weight :)

Getting on top of the healthy eating is your main concern. The exercise can be added later, for toning and well-being. Housework, gardening, dancing, running up and downstairs, wii fit, exercise DVD's are all great ways to get exercise without having to join a gym, or paying a fortune :)

You'll be great :)

Hi Wimbo and welcome, all I can say is that since joining this site, I steadily shed the pounds week on week.

That's only part of the story, my general health, stamina and agility have also improved, which ain't bad for someone over 60 :)

I'm still celebrating being able to put my socks on whilst standing instead of having to sit on the edge of the bed, I've lost the pain that I used to suffer in my knees and back and over the last couple of days have noticed I've been able to make a better job of washing my back whilst in the shower. I live in a hilly area and have noticed what used to look like mountain type ascents, now look like small inclines :)

The improvements lift the spirit and general levels of happiness if done correctly. I shall never run a marathon, but I'm quickly becoming a healthier happier person.

The 12 week plan formed the basis of my own personal plan and I can highly recommend that as a starting point, but and this is a big BUT, the most useful thing I've found to date is the help and support that can be gained from this site.

So a warm welcome and good luck to you and your future efforts. :)
