Hello - I am a newbie here, so would love some words of support.
After a visit to a doctor today I realised I weighed much more than I thought. So I thought - time to do something about it!
So, my weight on 19th October 2015 was 76 kilos, or 11stone 14 pounds (or 168 pounds). I would like to be 66 kilos, or 10 stones and 6 pounds, or 146lb (to be in the healthy weight range). So I am aiming to lose 10 kilos. This looks like quite a challenge. Please give encouragement and tips.
I have started running regularly in the last year (having completed Nhs couch to 5K and having run a 10k race) and my muscle tone has gone up, but I am still shocked by my weight.

Welcome Merendina - you've come to the right place for support and encouragement. I've drawn up an Excel spreadsheet with a target weight against each week and aiming to lose 2 lbs each week, though I know when I get nearer my goal the progress will slow down, so have accounted for this. Then against each half stone I'm recording how many items of previous unworn clothing I can now fit into. Hoping at the end of 12 weeks I can pull out everything in my wardrobe knowing it will fit.
Well done on the running - it's a great way of burning fat and keeping within your calorie limit should start to shift the excess pounds. Beware the post workout 'treat' which can see you undoing all your good work.
Thanks Janeski. It means a lot to get encouragement at this stage.
Hi Merendina, I know exactly the feeling. I started at 12st4, about 2 stone away from a healthy weight. I also did couch to 5k first, followed by the NHS 12 week plan. I lost 3lb doing couch to 5k and gained fitness, possibly tone, can't be sure! But the 12 week plan got the rest off. And now I'm at 10st 4, back in size 12 jeans and a mixture of 10s and 12s in everything else. It can definitely be done
wow - that sounds great - well done you. thanks for your support
I have only been here a week. All I can say is if you have to start to get to the end. No way round it. The forum looks very supportive to me. Just read and post. It helps
