Is it legal for me to work on a building site?

I've had a bit of a binge week this week and long story short gained a lot.

I should know this but is there a law that says when it will be unsafe for me on a building site due to weight?

I doubt it, although I would try to find some reliable source

Thank you - I've emailed an MP who wrote new legislation on building regulations and health and safety!

Hi Tommy,

Sorry to hear you've had a bit of a binge week this week.

I found a link that mentions looking after the health of builders, and there's an editor who wrote the piece (but I'm not sure 'when' he wrote it - so maybe it's not necessarily recent), but you could always contact him - as he has given his E-mail and his phone number - and maybe he might know the answer to your question, or might be able to give you details of someone who can?

The link to the article is here:

acenet.co.uk/government-ann...

Hope that is helpful.

Lowcal :-)

Tommy, the celebrity builder mentioned in the article I posted to you is also called 'Tommy' - is that coincidence or what?

I hope you get a good response to your E-mail to the MP.

Hi Tommy, I am not aware of any weight restrictions but I guess some machines or equipment such as ladders may have a weight limit so you may need to check them before using.

Don't despair about the extra weight as I (and others here) find that recently gained weight tends to come off quickly. I gained 9lbs in 9 days during my summer holiday but managed to lose 9lb in 9 days when I went back to sensible eating.

Do you have a plan to shift the recently gained lbs?

Remember also that one bad day doesn't need to ruin a whole week of sensible eating. You may need to be extra sensible the following week to try to make up for some of the extra calories.

I give myself an evening off once a week and I find that helps me avoid the binges.

Keep trying to cut your calories and portion sizes and you should see the results soon :)

Hi Sue,

Thank you for all of that, have you had a chance to reply to my email yet? No rush.

I'll defo be checking equipment for restrictions

Hi again, it may be worth posting something on here to see if you can get some advice form others on how they cope with binge eating, I am a general overeater and don't really suffer with big binges but I know others do on here. I am sure they will have a few tips for you :)
