At 67 years of age, 6ft 5in (1m 95cm) and 19 stones (121kilos) I stumbled across the NHS weight tracker at the beginning of August 2020. I was shocked to note I was considered obese particularly when at Well-Man clinics I had been complemented at keeping the same weight for over 4 years.
I put in the info on the tracker and saw I needed to get down to 105 kilos (16.5stones). I decided to try the liquid meals route and for three consecutive days a week every week I had 3 meals at 400 calories per meal - so I was literally having half the calories I needed to maintain weight for three days a week. I very quickly started to see the benefits of this. I also researched 'intermittent fasting' and that too is part of my routine. When on the liquid meals day/s I had all my meals in one sitting at 2pm and yet did not feel hungry or had any cravings. 24 hours later off I went again. It worked for me. Now I am down to one day a week on liquid meals I also fast on the 16/8 regimen on the odd occasion - literally just for the fun of it.
Between the beginning of August 2020 and the end of December 2020 I lost 16 kilos (2.5 stones). At that point I decided to have 1 day a week of liquid meals and have gotten down to 102kilos (16stones) mid March 2021. My BMI is still just in the overweight range and I will continue to lose a little more (belly fat is a pain to shift as many of us know). But all in all I found the process to be relatively painless and I will be keeping to liquid meals one day a week for the foreseeable future particularly when I want to maintain weight I can use the meals to fine tune my diet, plus the manufacturer is British and that is fine by me..
Hi MBHH and welcome to this amazing forum. I suggest you spend some time clicking about to find your way around. It's easier if you have a lap-top as there are several threads. If you’re using another device I strongly suggest that you use the web page as opposed to the app at least until you know your way around.
Have a good read of the pinned post “Welcome Newbies” and follow every thread.
I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.

Like yourself I’m 6ft 5 and was shocked when i weighed myself on the 1st jan 2018 and my weight was obese. This was the kick in the arse I needed especially as just had ankle surgery and thought the extra weight wasn’t probably helping.
I started calorie counting and the weight came off and by Summer I had reached 81.7 Kg on the 1/8/2018.
Anything is possible when you set your mind to it. Keep up the hard weight.
Hello Tall1732, I want to lose probably2 or 3 more kilos (mostly belly fat) but 81.7k seems low to me. The NHS weight tracker app gave a goal of 105kilos but even then my BMI was still just in the overweight area. I think 100k will do it for me.
I am familiar with the fasting concept, but when you say liquid diet ,am I correct to assume, it was a paricular regime, in order to ensure adequate vitamin and minerals?
Hello Caccani, yes I use Huel. I mixed both 'normal' and 'high protein' drinks. Either way each meal is totally balanced. I tried one other company too but I and in fact my whole family, prefer the Huel drinks for taste.
Hi IamthinkingJapanese and welcome back to this amazing forum.

And very nice they are too. I personally like Berry, my Wife likes Coffee and son and daughter in law love Chocolate. The spicy meals are pretty nice too. But of course it is all a matter of taste
Hello IamthinkingJapanese, although I am not medical and therefore do not offer anyone any advice, these are effectively meal replacements so you give up a normal meal and replace by having a few liquid meals (each meal is 400 calories). You know you get a balance of minerals and vitamins at the same time.
Hi Dabblegrey, no recipes since each drink is a complete recipe and 400 calorie meal in its own right. Several different flavours and you can also buy flavour enhancers to mix and match (the nearest thing to a recipe I suppose).
Sorry I am not sure if I sent you the message or to The Tabby Cat by mistake , anyway do you have any drink recipes please ? Am I aloud to ask you for them , I am 5ft 2 15 stone , not doing well at all trying to lose weight , any help is appreciated.
MBHH is free to share their recipes but we don't allow advertising e.g. of paid for weight loss plans.
