Looking forward to my bike ride

Sitting

Anticipating a nice long but leisurely bike ride. A lovely day some nice scenery to look forward too, good company and a few extra calories burnt. Not sure it will quite make up for the slices of cake I have eaten since my wife baked three lovely cakes on her day off on Friday. Damn and blast British Bakeoff, but I really don't need to turn myself into Mary Berry to test them, do I? Have a great Sunday all x😘

No, you just need to accept that one slice is enough! Why 3 cakes? I hope she plans to share them with lots of folks.

Get her to bake some healthier ones, lots of recipes out there.

Enjoy your bike ride, you may burn more than you think calorie wise?,

I'm off to work, which is annoying, swimming this eve tho

Hi Dave,

Hope you have enjoyed your bike ride today, with all that lovely scenery and good weather, and nice company.

Very difficult when your wife has baked 3 lovely cakes - I agree with you that it would be difficult to resist eating slices of cake in such circumstances, and I'm wondering how many slices you ended up succumbing to. (You don't need to answer that question - any self-declarations should be entirely voluntary...!)

I have also baked a cake today, but I'm going to freeze the slices later this afternoon, so that they are no longer in temptation's way.

Wishing you a great week ahead.

Hi Lowcal

Had a great bike ride thanks out for 4.5 hour and cycled 50 miles. I must be honest I think I,have eaten four slices in total which I must admit is weak. I like your idea about freezing, sounds like a really good dodge.

Hi Dave,

Very impressive that you cycled 50 miles - I'm sure that would work off some of that cake.

Yes, freezing is definitely a good solution for cake - keeps it out of sight, and you can have a slice occasionally.

Have a great week.

Hi NSky24

I must admit I know bike riding can be a big calorie burner but 3800 calories is quite a bit for one ride. Don't worry I really don't intend to eat the extra ! I did come back feeling like I could eat for England. I need to find something I can eat whilst on longer rides as my energy was really flagging the last few miles and that's not good.

Thanks, but with the exception of a few hills it was a really enjoyable ride. Not sure if it's possible to exercise too much while trying to lose weight and if in fact it can prove to be counter-productive.
