So my bags packed and am ready to go to Cardiff straight after work tomorrow. Husbands working and accommodation has been arranged by his boss. No idea when and where we will eat or how healthy the options will be. Fearing the weekend will scupper my weight loss this week. Don't like not being in control

Weekend away
Hi 2fab...bet theres a gym and brilliant walking ops...and you'll have a little love and romance ...seize the day...seize a very happy weekend together! joy!😄
Just go for everything healthy in sight. Look for fruit at breakfast and order salads when possible. When you start looking, you find the healthy options are there, just waiting to be found. Good luck and enjoy Cardiff. Hope you find the undercover arcades, the big national gallery and have a great time overall
I've posted a number of times on this subject. Go away and have a great time. Be careful by all means but if you have a blow out just be really strict on your return home. I tend to eat a little less for the first day or so on my return and always lose any weight gained within a week.
My best or worse example,of this was 5 days in Jerser and 10lbs gained. Lost it all in a week which sounds unbelievable. I was told that if you are dieting then have a blowout your body cannot convert all the extra food and sugar into fat immediately and it gets stored as water. Think there must be some truth in this as my holiday weight gain always goes extremely quickly as long as I am very strict with myself on return.
Always feel guilty though.
I'm sure you will have a fantastic weekend with your husband and there will be loads to do. There is usually something on the menu that can be adapted. I always ask for things without sauce/ dressings etc and jacket potato instead of chips. Eat loads of veg/fruit and don't feel guilty for asking. If you do over indulge don't make yourself feel to bad it will all come off next week.
We cannot get back the lovely time spent together and sometimes that's more important.
Hope you have a great weekend
Hi 2bFabnfit,
Wishing you a lovely weekend in Cardiff, hope you have a great time. Challenge that thought that you're not in control - you can use the experience as a 'test' and see how well you cope with analysing the menu for the healthiest choices - there'll be lots of opportunity to walk around and explore Cardiff hopefully, and that's great exercise - and like Andy says, even if you do put on some weight over the weekend, you can work hard to get back on track when you return.
So, whatever choices you make, enjoy your weekend.

Sounds like you'll have a great time and I bet you won't over indulged as much as you think you will!
1st problem was no healthy options at service station on way down. Really needed a hot meal. Eventually had fish and chips. Left the batter and ate only half the chips. Drank water. Hope within calories or only just over for the day....see what tomorrow brings.... been put up by very hospitable folk . Who ae providing breakfast lunch and dinner. ...help!
I've really tried but it is hard being gracious to hosts and to stay within limits. Not looking forward to mondays weigh in 😕 but the weather has been fabulous and I have done loads of walking.
