I am 1 little pound away from my 4 stone loss!! And my weigh day is Friday so I am certain I will reach it! I am astounded and amazed! 4 stone!!! I never ever thought it would be possible and it feels so quick too! Since October last year (2018)!!!
Three years ago when I had to buy trousers for a job interview I was aghast to find I had to pick up a size 22! At home I lived in nice stretchy leggings so I didn't know it was so bad as size 22! Bigger than when I was nine months pregnant!
Now I just had to buy size 14 trousers for work but they are still annoying me as they have wriggle room! I am going to have to try a size 12!! I don't think I will fit a size 12... Yet! But soon I am sure!!
3 more pounds and I am NO LONGER OBESE!! I will be 'overweight' on my BMI!! As I am having a pig out over my birthday this week I will prob reach that milestone in two or three weeks time instead of one or two! I can't wait!!!

Well done you, Great achievement.. 1 little pound to go..
Just a suggestion that could keep you on track.. Instead of "pigging out" this week on food and edible treats.. Can you change your focus to "pigging out" on non food items? Like size 12 trousers? A new top? Ask family and friends to give you clothes gift vouchers instead of birthday cake etc? And to spend time together to arrange a nice walk.. it's meant to be good weather this weekend? Or if it's an evening arrangement.. can you all go dancing?
Whatever you choose to do, enjoy each moment, time with family and friends is precious!
We are booked into an all you can eat restaurant! And my mum mentioned buying a birthday cake.
I had an idea last night though for if I get left with a lot of cake! I work in a care home and even though I am off work I was thinking I could pop in with the kids and help out for an hour (as they can struggle to cover my work) and give away the cake! Plus they got some chicken eggs hatching so the kids can see the chicks at the same time!
Great plan. And maybe the same could apply to the all you can eat restaurant - put your effort into making sure everyone else is having a great time - be the perfect host - and naturally you might end up eating a little less of everything
Congratulations on your success so far. Wonderful achievement. Keep going. Don’t pig out, enjoy your birthday and have a few treats. Then pull it back for the rest of the week and you won’t do any damage.
I must confess I brought myself a box of those Easter cakes (with the yellow cream stuff inside and mini eggs on top) which I am really looking forward to! And having days off work does mean I have more time for extra exercise so that should help a little!
Last time I had a 'naughty day' with food I felt sick, missed my 'normal' food and was eager to get back into my calorie controlled routines! So I will enjoy my day but then be eager and ready to enter the next stage of my weight loss!
Regardless of whether you hit that 4 stone mark, you can definitely ask admin for a 3.5 stone badge to wear with pride.
Fantastic news about the trousers, that must be such a mind rush and you still have wiggle room.
Loads of potential goals, 4 stone loss, size 12 trousers and moving out of the obese range. I suspect there's going to be a lot of cheering and celebrating over the next short weeks
Most definitely! And even better, the kids are back at school next week (and me back at work) until end of May so I got a nice long stretch of straight forward days to do my usual stuff with no temptations!
I started with the 5:2 diet as I didn't want to feel like I was being restricted everyday and my willpower was lower back then. It worked a little but I was still eating so much junk on my non-fasting days so after I lost 14 pounds I just stuck and yo-yo'd. I started calorie counting daily to watch what I ate on my non-fast days too.
Then I started exercising and wow!! That made all the difference! I thought I was quite active with my job (on my feet for four hours walking around care home and up and down stairs). But unless you walk briskly it doesn't count! So I was more unfit than I knew! I began the couch 2 5k program - more for fitness than weight loss but with my weight I got shin splints and had to build up my strength and stamina with brisk walking daily for 2 miles first. Even just walking (and dieting) the weight just came off! I lost inches very quickly!
Went back to C25K and graduated so I now can run (jog?) for upto 40 mins without stopping. I love it! And the walking and jogging gave me the bug for exercise so I do cycling, swimming and aerobics too. Oh and at Xmas I treated myself to a treadmill. Very useful! If I watch TV I feel like I need to eat! But if I walk on my treadmill I can watch TV and not want to eat! Is brilliant! Recently I stopped the 5:2 and just calorie count daily now but I enjoy planning my days ! I still eat a lot of junk! It's just how I am I'm afraid. I have made changes but I can't cut all my fave things at once! So I eat chips and chocolate and crisps every day but in my limit!
Haha anyways ... I could have just answered with "diet and exercise' couldn't I?! But it's a journey this weight loss lark! I added and adapted as I went and would have been too much and too hard if I had tried to jump straight in from day one with all I do now!
Happy Birthday and best wishes for your weight loss in the year ahead! I am trying to balance 'real life' with weight loss focus - it's the pesky social context of food as a celebration, treat, incentive that causes me the problems, but you are right it can slowly become a way of life - hopefully for the rest of my life!
Have a great day - you sound a very busy lady!
Well done fantastic achievement enjoy yourself I've lost 3.5 stone since end of October different circumstances though feel fantastic want to loose another stone I'm same as you didn't think I could do it need to tone it up down to 11St 6lbs. Let me know how you get on. Paul
Forgot to mention all the help off this site wouldn't have been possible without you thanks. Paul
As an update I had a good ol' pig out and enjoyed it immensely whilst also being very happy to be back to normal too! Today did a run and a bike ride for exercise and tomorrow I am cutting my calorie intake a little (1100 cal instead of usual 1490) for damage control! But for all that I did jump on the scales this morning and was only a 3lb damage so not bad! I will be back on track in no time!!
