Hi tish, I have about 10 stone more to lose. Lost just over 3 so far :)

More than happy with a bit of mutual non-judgmental support, which all of us with a bit more to lose need :)

Hi, I have 8 stone to loose and am struggling even though I have upped my exercise! I get frustrated when I gain and can often go two steps back! I would love someone to tell me never mind ,get back on and keep going. Mutual encouragement and support.

You will now doubt have some days when something comes up that can throw off your goal, Life Happens. But don't get angry and misjudge yourself as tomorrow is another chance to get back on track and continue on. Just remember to look your self in the mirror pretend you are looking at your own personnel coach and say (Ok you had an off day yesterday, so let's cross that off to experience and begin again). I have 6 stone to lose and unfortunately I live in Cork, a place I did not grow up here so I don't know anyone I can go for walks with so it is at times hard to stay motivated. You can do it. Best wishes

Hi Tish12,

I have lost 7st 8lbs in the last 21 months, down from 22st 10lbs, I'm now nearly 15st, so still more to lose. If I can be of any help, I've probably faced many of the same hurdles as your are over the past months or at least can understand the heartaches that go with being severely overweight brings, I would be happy to be here for you.

Hi Fran, I had a look on the NHS Choices 12 week plan, looks clear and friendly see what you think - it feels a good start

You can do it. I've been at it for 13 months and achieved my 7 stone weight loss yesterday. One more stone to go then to maintain.

Not easy by any means but if you stick with it it does get easier. May cost a fortune in new clothes though.

Hi I have just joined this morning and have 9 stone to loose. I have done many of the 'diets' over the years and have always felt a sense of shame re my weight. Would love to be slim to be healthy happy and buy gorgeous clothes !!

Really happy to offer support to others and feel very positive that this is the way forward.

dont look at it as a diet look at it as a way of life. it makes it easier that way. and i know exactly how you feel we will all get there together small steps = big changes.

I just found this today. I feel so low as I'm the big one. I would love to lose 8 stone but it seems so far away. I keep saying tomorrow. I am lucky as I go on holiday a week today so I am thinking I should just start when I get back. Going to hate looking like this on the beach.

Lightsite profile image

Hi enjoy your holiday and be aware of those extra so called treats ! Do really want them ? If so enjoy - no guilt ! But sometimes you may not want them on second thought and would prefer to leave alone, which ever have a great time

go on your holiday i know how you feel. try to make some good food choices, drink plenty of water. swim in the pool. and dont worry too much, im 19st 11lb i was last year 20st 7lb im 37 last year i had a heart attack but they say the fags did it. i would say enjoy your holiday and make the changes when you get back. dont look at it as a diet look at it as i lifestyle change. and you wont be the biggest one there. try not to compare yourself. we can help support each other x

I'm off to the gym today. I haven't been for nearly 3 weeks and recently all I do is swimming. My body hates the gym part but I love to swim. I am very slow. Cannot get into healthy eating with only a few days to my holiday but also can't find anything new to take as feel a right lump. I'm sure you know the feeling

I have 6 stone I would love to lose, but I have gotten no support at home as soon as I mention I want to go on a diet my partner brings home a large take - away every night. I really could do with some real support from people whom truly understand.

My saying is, if you don't have bad days how will you be able to appreciate the good ones, try to stop thinking in stones, cut back to pounds instead and then it will be a big achievement to lose just a pound which is great as you can lose a pound a day without a massive change to your daily régime.
