Hello everybody? I need help and i am willing to loose my weight and feel bette about myself. You see i am a diabetic been for a year. So this is a must for me to drop my weight.
Post this in the Newbie club
Hi welcome, I have found the way to cut carbs is to increase protein. I eat more eggs, chicken, fish and fill plate with veg. I don't then need rice, bread, potatoes. Good luck 🤞
Thank you
Hi Hines
I am assuming you are Type 2 as you have only been for a year .
If so you can really improve your health by weight loss cutting the carbs and sugar.
Do get and read the 8 week blood sugar diet by Dr MichaEl Moseley which gives you great information as to what foods to eat and those to steer clear of and how to lose weight,
It worked for me and my blood sugar level returned to normal as I lost weight . It also has suitable recipes which are calorie counted aNd there is a separate illustrated recipe book . Both books quite cheap on Amazon p
Best wishes
Hello and welcome HinesR50 😊
Hi Big guy, welcome to Health unlocked. There is a great website called Diabetics UK. The site has some really useful tips for people with Diabetes who would like to lose weight. There are also full diet plans for men and women. Give it a try. Good luck.
Hi and Welcome,
Good to see you and yes you can do this.
I lost 2.5 stone in 2 years, so I did it slowly. I did this by changing my view of what I was doing. I looked on it at as a new healthy eating and exercises plan to allow me to do the things I want to do in life.
There were times I gained weight, but I stuck with my healthy eating. I found staying hydrated and having fruit and veg available to eat if I really need a snack if good. I have grown to love raw cabbage to snack on, a tip my Mum gave me. I also get jars of fermented veg from my local polish shop to.
Buying smaller plates also helped and ensuring I really spend time enjoying my meals rather than eating in a rush helped as well.
Set your weekly goals and treat yourself, but not to feed, when you meet a goal. If you spill back, just reset your goals and keep going.
Good luck and remember you can do this.
Take care.
Hi and welcome to the community! Good luck to you!
Best way to start is get your mind set. That you will try anything even if it's not your thing. Find a healthy way not diet you have to follow for the rest of your life. Diabetes is life. Journal your food to know why your sugar levels are high. It's the rest of your life. I use my fitnesspal it's free. I've lost total of 160 lbs yes it's not over night. Plus I have back track a few times. But got back on it read as much as you can find on diabetes and learn to cook healthy. Learn how you can eat out by choosing good food and ask them to cook foods like no butter or sauces, steam veggies, salad dressing on side pick what you want on the salad. It's a lot of work but worth your life and how you live it. Read what diabetes can do to your body to stop it before it happens to you. Walk more.
Hi big guy am the same as u except I'm not diabetic. Best of luck. I have at least 3 stones 10 pounds to lose.
