I started this diet and exercise programme in January, and as part of that joined a beginners' running group. Jogging in short bursts around my local park with other similarly unfit women.
Well that was then and today my running group is attempting the Great North Run. We won't be fast and there will be some walking on the way no doubt, but the fact I could even do this wouldn't have crossed my mind before joining the club.
Being part of a group has kept me going and I can honestly say I'm fitter today than I have been in my entire life. And I'm 40 in 6 months.
