Ok so I'm not very active, I have a two year old son and want to be able to run around the park with him and all that.....

I try to do exercise but I kills me the next day then I give up because it hurts to much. Do you just have to push past it? Am I doing to much to quick? If anyone can help, all comments welcome.

The best thing to do is to increase activity slowly. Start by just doing more walking and go up and down stairs a few more times in the day. No point trying to do too much so that it puts you off. Good luck!

Yes have been walking much more but that dosnt seem to help much :/. Maybe I should just start slow and try and increase. Thank you.

Have you looked at the NHS couch to 5km plan, several friends have done it and found it good.

Hi yes I have but as I'm a single mum with no family near it is very hard for me to get out by my self, my son is at the age where he can't be left for 5 mintues so no good coming with.

I've seen quite a few running and pushing a pushchair. ;)

I'm not running this year following a few bereavements and now have had eye surgery so I'm not allowed to run. Next year I'll definitely be doing the NHS Couch to 5k podcasts again - and I'm 65.

On the days that I have my two year old and four year old grandsons I walk miles! Yesterday I walked nearly 8 miles between picking them up, taking one to nursery, taking the other into town to baby rhyme time at the library, picking the older one up again, taking them home. I don't have a car but I do wear a Fitbit Zip which counts my steps and I always do over 7,000 steps a day but generally it's over my goal of 10,000 steps.

I wasn't as fit when I had a car!
