I've been using the NHS 12 week plan. That's been great. It does involve calorie counting but you soon get used to it and it's really been great about helping me eat more healthily. This is the longest I've ever lasted on a weight loss plan and I think it is because it is a sustainable healthy plan.

Hi I have done slimming world in the past but found it difficult to sustain. I have been doing the Nhs 12 week weight loss program & used the myfitnesspal app & have found it really good & feel healthier and back in control of my eating. What I like about myfitnesspal is that not only does it help with calorie counting it shows you the proportions of what you eat carbohydrate's, protein & fat. I have always had difficulty losing weight. By reducing and keeping an eye on my carbohydrates & sugar especially hidden sugar in food I have lost 1st 2lb over the past 12 week feel great & the gravings have stopped. As far as exercise goes I go to the gym 2/3 times a week I do about 20 mins on the cross county trainer & the static cycle as it does not impact on my knees as I have a physical problem with one off my legs. I wish you luck with your weight loss. I find this forum really supportive.

I tried slimming world a few years ago but only lasted a few weeks, one week I won slimmer of the week even though I explained 5lb loss due to tummy bug, next week I was a 1lb heavier and was asked "what went wrong?" - well nothing went wrong, I was just no longer dehydrated but my weight was mourned by the entire group! Didn't go back, frustrating that the leaders don't have even a basic grasp of biological processes.

Hi

I have done slimming world for 2 years and lost 3 stone in the first year and have maintained the weight loss in the 2nd year.

For me slimming world is easy to follow and I never go hungry. I would rccomend it to anyone and depending on your weight some doctors will refer you to slimming world meaning you don't pay for the first 4 weeks I think it is, but even if you do pay its £4.95 a week which if I didn't pay to go to slimming world I would only spend it in chocolate anyway!!

Anything is worth a try.

Good luck x

Slimming world overhauled their plan a few years ago or so, so don't go off advice given by people who went years ago as those plans no longer exist. I used to find the old plans hard, but now they have a plan called extra easy which is easy to follow and is family friendly (no more cooking separate meals) - it also makes it more sustainable long term.
