Slimming world : As any body had any... - Weight Loss Support
Slimming world
It's all down to personal choice Bobbi, there are some members who swear by SW and have had good results. However, there are others who have had good result with the 12 week NHS plan and it's free
Whichever you decide, the support from this forum is second to none and essential for the support and encouragement we all need on our journeys.
I wish you all the best of luck
I'm going with the 12 week plan then it's free but not sure what it is I think it's calorie controlled any body got any more information please x
The 12 week plan is calorie controlled. You need to enter your details into the BMI counter and that will give you your recommended daily calorie allowance. There is also a calorie counter for heaps of different foods. A lot of people on here swear by a phone app MyFitnessPal, which tracks all your calories and various other things, which I'm sure somebody will explain further to you.
Download the charts and fill them in accurately, weigh your food, at least to start with, because it's very easy to over guesstimate
We have a Monday weigh in, and all are welcome. You can give as many, or as few details as you wish.
We have an extremely active, friendly and supportive forum, which I advise you log onto regularly, to keep your motivation up and to get advice where needed.
Good luck to you on your journey, we're here if you need us
Hi slimming world is brilliant! You will definitely never go hungry! you get a balanced diet!
Hi - It depends what sort of person you are. Slimming World is great, especially if you can go to the groups. I've been doing my own experiment with the two diets. Sticking with SW and at the same time writing down how many calories I've been eating. Lately I've had family illness which has meant running around like a mad thing from pillar to post which has meant I haven't been eating as many calories as I've not been thinking about food. Over the last month I've lost 8lb without really trying. They're both pretty good diets, and maybe SW to start off with if you have a lot of weight to lose. Exercise is paramount though on either.
Hi Bobbi, what ever you decide, know that your welcome on this site...and will have loads of cheerleaers to cheer you on!
Absolutely - we're all in this together. I'm just off to the scales.......
I love slimming world! I lost 3 1/2 stone in 4 months and was eating more than ever. I went to the group once to get the welcome pack etc but then did it at home using the knowledge and the Internet. It's very easy to do, not so much a diet but a change of eating! I am now pregnant and continuing with it as I don't want to put on any inessential weight! Hope this helps xx
I agree with al the posts.....what ever helps !!! But at the end of the day we have to be accountable for what we eat & try to take exercise at least 1/2 hour every day.....
Easier said then done, I can tell you 😡😜😘 Good luck,
Hiya, I have tried doing Slimming world in the past and didn't do very well on it, I am now doing Weight Watchers and this seems much better I have now lost 2 stone and find it really easy. Hope this helps and good luck. The my fitness app is a really good tool to use 😀
I'm not sure successful weight loss is a matter of luck!
Hey Bobbiebobbins1!
As others have pointed out, it's personal choice - what works for one person, might not work for another.
Personally, I have tried various diets : Slimming world, weight watchers, Cambridge diet, cabbage soup diet (that was NOT popular in my house!!!!)
The NHS plan is working for me though... And I think its probably the best diet I've ever had, because I am learning each and every day about the calorific and nutritional value of the food I fuel my body with. Something that I will be able to use for the rest of my days! What is the nutritional/calorific value of a Slimming world syn or weight watchers point?
Whatever you choose to do, you will have the support of everyone here!
Good luck 🍀
X
I'm in the UK.
Not sure where weight watchers I'd available?
Cabbage soup did help me lose weight, but it isn't sustainable, and I was not educating myself on how to eat 'normally'!
Find what works for you! As some say a mix of things might work, you don't have to excersise but it does help but don't eat the calories you burn, my tip is find a regime you can stick with for life what ever it may be! Goodluck and join us on the monday weigh in if you helps your need to be accountable
