Hi everyone. Does anyone know much about the Zoe Harcombe diet and would you recommend it. Been reading a bit on line but I'm so used to counting calories and this plan seems to advocate against it? Your views are welcome 😀
Zoe harcombe?: Hi everyone. Does anyone... - Weight Loss Support
Zoe harcombe?
I've not followed it myself but I have used their Forums in the past when seeking advice for certain things. The diet from what I know is basically LCHF (Low Carb High Fat) structured, which is great way to follow that type of lifestyle if you've no previous knowledge of it.
If memory serves me correctly it is or at least it was split into 3 main phases, the first phase is a kind of Elimination Diet, which looks to remove and identify foods that may be causing you issues, especially when it comes to weight control, the second phase is the main Weight Loss phase and lastly comes a maintenance phase. Like I said that's how it used to be, not sure if it's changed.
Personally I think Zoe gets a lot of unfair bad rap but then again I guess anyone willing to challenge mainstream thinking either in the diet world or in other areas usually does.
Good Luck.
Thanks for this, hadn't heard of the Eatwell plate, but just googled it and it looks really interesting. Have just printed it off and will aim to follow their recommendations.
Wow, thank you for this comprehensive reply. I didn't realise she was so well respected in this industry. Its hard to shift my thinking as for 20 years I've counted calories as that has always seemed the way to do it so I guess I need to take a leap of faith and try her formula. I like wholefoods and things like nuts but have always been put of them due to their high calorific value. Anyway, I'm going to try her 5 day phase 1 plan and see how I go, thanks again
