As of tomorrow I am starting the Harcombe diet in the hope of loosing weight, and cracking down on my bloating stomach. I was just wondering if any of you had done/doing the diet, and if it works? Also if there are any meal ideas that any of you have! Thank you for your support! X

You may be better with something simpler that will help you build new and better eating habits. The important thing is deciding to make a start and taking small steps that won't cause too much pain and deprivation - that helps you to stay with it. Look forward to hearing about your progress.
I did this diet for 8 months before my wedding and didn't find it difficult to stick to! I went for 10st 2 to 9st7. It took 2/3 months to get to goal weight then I just maintained it. I think its easy to follow I loved the first 5 days, tbh I never ate many carbs on this diet it was a lot of protein but I ate salad every lunch time and craved healthy food. Its really changed my way of eating as I eat way healthier now and that was 5 years ago! Good luck, I don't think its faddy because its all about real food and healthy eating. I wouldn't do it again as I dont eat much meat now and I thought it was very meat heavy (even though Zoe Harcombe is a vegetarian).
Ive tried the whole 'healthy eating' thing and getting up at 5:45am to go on power walks...nothing works!! Thought this seemed like quite an easy and healthy diet to follow as opposed to shakes and fasting. I'm going to try as at the minute nothing seems to be working for me!! What have I got to loose?!
Losing weight is 70% eating healthy so if it didn't work for you then something in your plan is wrong or perceived wrong Be it calories or amount consumed. It's pretty simple really when you think of it but when you realise how bad bad food is for you and how far it sets you back then it undoes 1-2weeks good work. Fad diets are just that, fad. 5:30am sounds a wee bit early sleep is important for biogenesis. Depending on your ability age etc...then maybe a power walk isn't really that "powerful" don't get me wrong 30mins walking everyday is a great way to start but it's going to take you a long time to burn the calories from orange juice let alone say chocolate. Weigh your food and calorie count and try to increase exercise levels / intensity....
I'll give you a hidden inside tip from sport science...stairs running swimming are All good and all but you climb stairs for the same time you go for a run...and you will see what I mean. Pushing your weight against gravity requires a lot of strength and will be a full body workout for you including core! This is why the 2 minute stair climb test at school was nakering now try 15 mins
Zoe Harcombe writes some sensible advice. Giving up the processed foods is the best way of being healthy and losing weight. Perhaps have a look at the book "Fat Chance" by Professor Robert Lustig, who is an American obesity expert, if you want to know any more about the science.
Good luck with losing weight.
A friend recommended this book to me, Escape The Diet Trap by Dr John Briffa. I got the Kindle edition today and have to read through it now. My friend who is a type 2 diabetic( like me) did very well losing weight after reading it. From what I can see it`s not only diabetics who will benefit though. He says; Lose weight without calorie-counting, extensive exercise or hunger....sounds good to me! Good luck with you weight loss journey, I am now beginning mine
