I really need help, i,ve just caught sight of myself in the mirror while getting out of the shower. I,ve put so much weight on since going through a stressful time. Now I must deal with sorting myself out and looking after my health. I, d love your support.

Hello and welcome gillyflower88, You've come to the right place, we're all here to help and support each other 😊 you've made the first step by realising you need help and change your life. First thing you should do is check your weight and bmi, then make a realistic goal weight, I.e. Not going overboard, I've done this in the past and believe me it's not worth it. Then choose the route you wish to follow I.e. Nhs health, ww, 5/2 diet, calorie counting etc etc .... Break down your goal into smaller goals, when you reach a goal treat yourself to a new dress 😃 that's what I've done and it's helped me stay strong, good luck on your journey and let us know how your getting on x

Hi there gillyflower88, I know that feeling so well...you see your reflection and just can't believe you've let it happen, you feel fed up, disappointed and then when you start to think about losing the weight it feels like you have a mountain to climb. But now you've decided to do something about it this forum is an excellent place to be. I started the NHS 12 week weight loss plan 5 weeks ago and the people who use this forum have given me encouragement and advice every step of the way. Good luck on your weight loss journey, take a look at NHS choices website I found it very helpful. I look forward to reading about your successes.

Hi Jenever, thank you for your reply. It does feel like a mountain to climb. Tomorrow i weigh myself, measure my self and start. So stupid to let the weight creep on but a few months of stress added to an already overweight body did,nt help. Not healthy for a 68 year young gal. So here i go. I,m enjoying the informative mag " healthy food guide" ,anyone else found it?

Just had a quick look at this mag...looks good, nice recipes with calorific value. Thanks for pointing it out.

Hi gillyflower88,

I too know that feeling. I felt the same a couple weeks ago when my friend put up a full length mirror in her bathroom. Don't let it get you down! Use it as motivation!

You can do this doll! :-)
