I thought I would join as I have slowly been putting weight on for the last few years. I like to exercise, but find the whole eating thing difficult to manage! I am starting with an initial goal of 5 kilos to lose, with a further 5 kilos once I have reached target 1. Feeling the need for some moral support to help me focus!!

I know what you mean with the whole eating thing being difficult, I'm the same too. Before I go on, I just wanted to say welcome to this forum, it's great here because there are alot of people on a mission and there is alot of support here. The thing that I'm using is my fitness pal, it's great of tracking your calories and keep track of your activity. Also I am aiming to lose half a pound a week, an am aiming to eat 5 meals but smaller portions and my aim is to workout 5 times a week. Also eat fibre foods because it feels you up and never skip breakfast and drink plenty of water.

Anyway sorry to go on, good luck with your journey.

Hi, thanks for your post...I am using my fitness pal too. Perhaps we could link up on it? I always think if you have support then it makes for an easier journey. My username there is oopsreidy I think! I agree with the drinking plenty of water. Often I want something to eat in my head, but actually I'm just thirsty!

Hiya. I tried to add you just now on my fitness pal But it I don't think it recognised your name. Anyway my email address is: anujavora1@gmail.com - you should be able to find me on my fitness pal

Good luck, you should be able to lose about a kilo a week if you put your mind to it!

I think you hit the nail on the head there. IF you put your mind to it! I usually start pretty well, losing a couple of kilos in the first two weeks, then the wine creeps back in, the grabbing whatever is available to eat because I haven't planned dinners or end up working so late I don't want to cook when I get in. For me, remembering why I am doing it will be the key. Thanks for your support.x

Hi, thanks for the reply. I am a little bit confused. On the 12 week plan, are there menus that you can follow, or do you have to create your own? Also, is there somewhere online where I record my weight and waist size? Or do I just print off the PDF sheets and record it manually? Any pointers would be gratefully received!

In my case, I have printed the pages and have recorded everything manually. Most people within this group use myfitesspal or another app and do everything through it. It sound very interesting but I am just not too good with this sort of thing.

I create my own menu and sometimes download some meals from the net. NHS has meals and recipes as well. I am on the email list of myfitesspal and receive interesting recipes with calories included.

Hope this help.
