newbie help please

hi

joined the site tonight to start to get ready for my weight loss programme. i have over 19 stone to loose and would appreciate all the support i can get. breaking weight loss down into targets as it seams impossible when i look at the whole picture please help

I have broken my weight loss into smaller chunks my first one being to loose two stone before a wedding in April. My sister is also needing to loose weight so we have agreed that we will do something together when reach each goal like a cinema trip. Maybe you could set yourself some non-food rewards.

i am writing a list of non food treats with weight loss achieved to earn them to help keep me going

Hi Seagull63

Get your calories sort out.and if you stick to them you will loose weight,it is a hard road but dont give up i have 6 stone to loose that how iam doing it.started running last night doing the couch to 5k it was hard after no exercise for years but i did it.same again tomorrow night.

take each day as it comes

I've also just joined tonight. I once lost 11stone over a 18mth period. I kept it off for just over seven yrs but it took me just 2yrs n 8mths to put it all back on. I found that if I made really small targets ie 7 lbs or a stone, I could see these targets as quite easy to reach and before long I was passing them all by. Good luck.

I have been on and off diets for years until l went to the doctors in march last year l was complaining about my knees they were so painful and he told me l was badly obese and if l carry on l would not be around in 6months so he sent me to 12 weeks free of weight watches and the gym and l have lost 4 1/2 stone and feel great my weight was 18 stone 4 and l am now 15 4 l still have a few stone to lose but you can do it
