Last Monday I weighed 13 stone 6.8 pounds, and today I weigh 13 stone 6.0 pounds, so I've lost 0.8 pounds this week. I am pleased to have lost weight, and hopeful that I will be able to lose more over the coming week. I have managed to increase my exercise in terms of doing more walking, but I need to try to do some resistance work as well. I will try to have a session at the gym to have a go on the weights.
I am also planning on having some less calorific desserts, as I tend to indulge a bit when it comes to dessert - and I could do with cutting down the frequency of that indulgence!
Hope you all have had a good week. Please join me to share your experiences at this Monday weigh-in.

Last week I was 149lb today 150.2lb -so a small gain but not too bad as it was my first week and these new healthier habits will take a while to get fixed!!
Glad you got through your first week ok. Healthier habits do take a while to get fixed - also challenging to maintain as well - but just keep focused and you'll see some weight loss very soon. Have a good week.

Morning Lowcal, way to go with the downward spiral, am still 10 11 today so that's okay, had an indulgent weekend and worried about the football as there will be midweek temptations as a group of us take turns in hosting the England matches, have a good week all I am just hoping for maintenance
Well done for maintaining despite your indulgent weekend. Good luck with your aims to maintain over the week ahead, despite those mid week football temptations. Hope you have a great week.
Started last Monday morning at 11st 6lbs 4 ozs. Finally made it through week one and weighed myself this morning. Am now 11st 3 lbs 6 ozs. It has been a hard week but got better once I had shopped for different foods to replace the savoury ones I adore (like crisps, roast turnips, roast potatoes, chips and soured cream on jacket potatoes). It's a good job I don't have a sweet tooth as well! The daily exercise only happened on four days but I'll try to do better this week.
Congratulations on your weight loss, that's a great result. Good to hear you've made some positive changes and well done on exercising for 4 days - that's really good.
Actually, Bluexbaby, YOU were my secret with the tip about the raisins. It's awesome how long you can chew on one raisin when what yo really fancy is a packet of crisps
Fantastic news on the continued weightloss. I lost another pound this week so i'm at 17st 2lbs. I walked 15 miles over the weekend, felt great, walking always used to be such a chore but now I just go out for a wander on my own and it's much easier than it used to be. I also managed to fit back into the top that inspired the summer attempt at weightloss last year. I have a beautiful cream lacy top that was tightish when I first bought it last year at the start of the summer, by mid summer it was too tight to wear, yesterday it fit comfortably
I also missed the thing last month when it was walk 100 miles in May so i'm doing walk 100 miles in June for myself and so far have logged 24.9 miles on map my walk, right on track.
Well done for losing another pound this week. That's brilliant. I'm impressed to hear you walked 15 miles over the weekend - sounds really good. Great that you're fitting back in your cream lacy top as well - now you can enjoy wearing it again.
Good luck with your goal to walk 100 miles in June - you're already well on the way.
Yes, let's hope next week is a successful one for us all.
Well done everyone, a loss is a loss, don't let the small losses put you off
I weighed 183lb last week and this week I am 176.6lb so a loss of 6.4lb!
Been counting my calories and walking more. I haven't restricted myself at all and have had chocolate a few nights of the week. Just a tiny bar rather than a whole dairy milk though lol. I've been making sure I do at least 10,000 steps a day too which helps.
Wow, that's a big loss. All that exercise and all those steps have definitely been working. Hope you've been enjoying your walks. The weather has certainly been good for it.
Can you recommend a step counter? The last one I tried had t be sent back and I'd like to keep track and try to increase the number I do daily. Thanks for any help.
I can't recommend a specific one, because I've not really used a step counter with any regularity. I had a free one from a company that I used for about a day, (can't remember its name), but I lost interest in it as it didn't seem to count the steps very accurately.
Hopefully someone else will be able to give you some useful suggestions. Or maybe google your question online and see what comes up as well.
It sounds like we're all having an extra focus on exercise this week, which I think is great (and a brilliant time of year to do it). I am down 1lb this week and I'm happy with that. 5lbs to go to my new goal. My half marathon training started last week. I have downloaded a training schedule for it, so my goal this week is to stick to that, and also do some more of the jillian micheals workouts.
Great that you have lost a pound this week, that's really great. Hope your half marathon training is going ok so far. That's a great goal. I'm going to make a concerted effort to find my Jillian Michael's DVD, as it does sound really good, and I know you've enjoyed doing it, and so I feel inspired to find it and try it. It was one of those things that I put in a safe place and then forgot about it!
Have a great week.

Thanks Lowcal - well done on your loss too - slowly is definitely the best way.
Those "safe" places - I have loads of them but can't remember where they are!!
In case you can't find the DVD, here are 2 of the 30 day shred videos on YouTube:
Congratulations on everyone's successes this week!
I am new here as of late last night! I had some trouble sleeping so had a browse and don't know how, but stumbled across you all! And I'm very glad about it as seeing all the support everyone gives each other is just lovely!
As of this morning I've decided to get back on track! I have weighed in at 12st 8lbs and have a goal in my mind to get to about 10st. I want to get back into some of those old clothes that used to fit me a few years ago!
Plus with a family holiday coming up in around a years time who doesn't want to look a bit more flattering in a bikini?!
I have downloaded the MyFitnessPal App and also have the 12 week plan to keep me in check. And with a bit of support from some Jillian Michaels DVDs and all you guys, I am feeling pretty positive!
A warm welcome to you, and it's great that you're starting off with lots of positivity, as I am sure that will help you to keep on track and focus on your goals. Great that you have a holiday to look forward to as well. It's good to have a goal to work towards.
Hope you have a great first week, and look forward to seeing you again next week for the Monday weigh-in.
Hi lowcal ......well I said I hoped to be showing off this week... but alas I did not lose anything ... In spite of walking more ect watching my intake and drinking loads of fluids ....so I will try harder this week and congratulations on your weight loss well done x
Thanks for your kind words. It's great that you have continued with your exercise and watched your food intake etc and fluids - I'm sure the weight will come off for next week's weigh-in, so just keep going! Let's hope we have more nice weather to help us with our walking etc.
Well done Low Cal!!! I lost 1kg...very happy...I dont expect to lose the same this week, but I am really enjoying the programme and the exercise. I am also going to focus on strength training this week.
Wow, that's great that you've lost 1 kg. Well done! Glad you're enjoying the programme and the exercise. Good luck with your goal of focusing on strength training.
Welcome! Have you looked at the NHS 12-week plan? It's really good. This forum is very helpful - lots of motivated people who are extremely supportive.
I suffer with arthritis and my feet burn and throb at the end of a working day, but am going to try and use things like portion control and not snacking in front of the telly to help me lose at least 2 lbs by next week. I have a lot of gardening to do, so should get lots of exercise.
It must be very tough to suffer with burning and throbbing feet at the end of a working day. Hope you get lots of gardening done, and that you have some sunny weather so you can enjoy being out and about. Good luck with the portion control and not snacking in front of the telly - hope you have a great week.
Bit late today - have had a lot on! I feel slimmer so was looking forward to this week's weigh in. I have lost 4lbs! This makes up for last week's 3lb gain!
Hi Lowcal - well done on the weight loss! Keep going!
I've lost 2 more lbs which makes it 11 lbs since I started. So my resolutions from last week: I did drink more water and felt better for it, I did considerably more walking which I'm pleased about but only managed one of the 3 swims I had planned. Now getting physio for my back so hoping I won't be too far away from doing some proper exercise again.
This week's 'try something different' resolutions: I'm going to concentrate on working on my core stability exercises; have one whole day without any sugar at all and 2 swims! I'll let you know next week how I get on!
Congratulations to you for losing 2 pounds this week - that's really great, and you're getting close to the stone mark. Really good. Hope your Physio goes well and helps your back.
I like your 'try something different' resolutions. Good luck with those.
Hi LowCal. Well done for your loss. I have stayed the same this week. I have been working REALLY hard at the gym this week, but have eaten too much rubbish food too, so I expected it. Going back to basics this week though, no treats or wine!
Great to hear you have worked hard that the gym this week, I am sure that will have helped you to get fitter and more toned. At least you've 'maintained' rather than gained weight. So well done for that! Back to basics sounds tough! Hope you cope without your treats and wine.
Maybe you could allow yourself the occasional treat? I like to have a small glass of red wine with a meal about once or twice a week - and I really savour it.
I'm sure your hard work will pay you dividends next week, so keep at it!
Hope you're doing ok so you can enjoy those choc raisins on Friday, they sound scrummy.
Lowcal
Hi Lowcal,
I have been on holiday for two weeks and have just returned from weigh-in at Weightwatchers.
2.5 lbs off! Yay!
Thats a total now of 12.5lbs in the last 6 weeks. If I can manage to lose 1.5lbs this week i will have lost my first stone by next week. I am positively buzzing
Hope you enjoyed your holiday. You've had a great weight loss - 2.5 pounds off is really great! You'll be close to losing your first stone soon, as you say. That's brilliant!
Glad to hear you're buzzing, and hope you have another great week ahead.
Hi Lowcal, well done to you!!!! You must be happy. I weighed in today and I've lost a 1lb!! I'm happy about that. I've completed W2 of the couch to 5K so I'm in the zone with exercise. Although just ate a massive bowl of pasta but hey I've got all week to work it off. I'm going to try and slot in another session of exercise. I gave up on the gym a while back but I do enjoy swimming so might try that Wednesday. I've also just bought a Nutribullet- juicer type thing so I'm going to stock up on juices this week see if I feel more energised!!!! Good luck to all.
Thanks for your encouragement. Really pleased to hear you've lost another pound! Really good. I think you deserve that bowl of pasta after all your hard work doing the couch to 5K W2. Do you have wholemeal pasta? It's better than normal pasta (I think) because of having more fibre.
Hi LowCal - I have gone from 15 stone 8 pounds to 13 stone 8 pounds following the LiveWell NHS plan and walking for 40 mins+ per day. I am onto my 7th week now and will remain on the plan until I hit my target of 11 stone. Then Ill gradually increase my daily calories until I find a level where I maintain. Hope alls well with you xxx
I am impressed by your progress to date. You've done really well. You're well on your way to your target, and you are doing lots of walking - very healthy. Enjoy your 7th week, and let's hope it's another good one!
