Hi Dorriel,

It must be particularly challenging to try to lose weight when you are restricted regarding your mobility, following your stroke. But are there any exercises that you have been recommended to do by any of the healthcare providers you saw following your stroke?

Also, have you looked at the types of foods you're eating, and the portion sizes etc to see if there are ways you can tweak your food intake to be healthy and nutritious. Have you looked at the NHS website for the 12 week approach to losing weight - it's very good and has lots of tips and suggestions.

Hope you are having a good week.

Lowcal :-)

Hi Angel

Welcome to our family.

It is daunting and very frustrating trying to lose weight when you're not mobile. Have you been given any physio to help your muscles?

I feel for you, i lost the feeling to my right side 10yrs ago and as nothing showed up on the mri, they said yes i have a neurological problem but they couldn't help me as they didn't know what it was!!

I was more fortunate than you i can use my right side, i just can't feel it. I have been banned from the kitchen and anything hot, sharp or electric unsupervised as i'm an accident waiting to happen, hee hee.

My hubby threatened to get me a blue flashing light to put on my head, he was shocked when i said get it i'll use it to go shopping, i'm sure we've got an invisibility button that gets pressed as soon as we go into a shop, with the way people bump into us and give us a filthy look UNTIL they see the walking stick! Then they apologise!!

I had one in asda on sunday, she barged past me on the way out of the shop, she looked back and gave me a filthy look, then spotted my stick and then stopped to apologize, i said oh what made you notice was it the bright purple lace covering the stick or the even brighter scrarf tied to it!! She hung her head. If my daughter had been with me she'd've got her by the throat.

We'll fight this weight problem together if you'd like a rather nutty lifestyle buddy ( i hate the D word).

Take care and gentle hugs and angel blessings xx
