After doing well so far, I am worried about failing again. I have managed to lose 16 pounds in the past month and it makes me feel proud, but the feeling that I may just fail again won't go away.

Is your diet/eating plan sustainable? You have to find some thing that works for life! Are you educating yourself - or at least your stomach? Good Luck....

I am in the same situation - but you will be surprised how strong you can be - just take it a meal at a time and if you have a bad one don't right the day off completely . You have shown you can do it so be proud of yourself and keep focused on your goal

Well done on your progress so far. I also sometimes have the thought that in the future I could gain the weigh back. But I counter it with the thought that all I can do is control what I do now in the present. Right now I keep making healthy choices for food and carry on working out, and realise that I am fit and well as a result. Who knows what challenges the future will bring, but I am happy with my lifestyle now.

I just wanted to add that 16lb in a month is quite quick, but often people lose a bit more the first few weeks. Around 8-9lb a month is the max you should aim for long term, so please don't get disappointed if you lose a bit slower next month.

You worry about the possibility of failing - negative. If everyone worried about the possibility of failure no one would ever achieve anything, in any field whatsoever. Has no one in the past ever been in the habit of praising you for what you got right, or have you always just had criticism for whatever you got wrong?

Build on your success. You have every reason to feel proud. You've achieved something really difficult and very worthwhile. You are entitled to shout it from the housetops! Very well done indeed. Move on to the next step. Very well done to you.

Have to agree with the above ladies. I think we all think "what if I fail" so you are not alone. Often it's not the first time we have tried to lose weight, but we don't give up. Believe in yourself, you will have blips and road bumps, but you will overcome them. Well done on your loss so far - you can building on this. Good luck.

Fantastic! What you have achieved is fantastic. Just keep going one day and one increment on the scales each day is still marvellous. You are going in the right direction. You will have blips, don't worry. Then you say, now I'll carry on. Once you give up, will you succeed? Read, research watch videos on youtube re all sorts of health issues. There are amazing stories out there. Sugar is an addiction and it will take sometime to go. Never shop when hungry, take a list, avoid processed food and change gradually, then you and your body and brain get used to the changes. Read and learn about weight gain and health issues, it makes it easier to avoid certain foods when you understand how damaging they are to your health. Well done and good luck.

My daughter has taken her driving test 3 times and didn't pass on stupid little things. She wanted to give in. I told her you only really fail when you don't keep trying. Moral of the story. If you give up you fail but whilst your still trying you can win. We all feel at some point why do I bother the answer is cos we want to win. Keep going we are all here to support those daft little slip ups
