Go for a walk at least 30 minutes everyday. Walk as fast as you can. I am doing it too. Start it today!

Hi Emi13, welcome to the site. That's a pretty fast weight gain, it's coming from somewhere. Take a look back at your eating/drinking habits and activity for the last couple of weeks, activity levels low, lots of processed foods, snacks, alchohol? Calories come in many guises, a good night out, restaurant meal, drinks at the pub, can exceed you daily allowance by double just for the evening. If you've had a week of partying with little activity that could explain it. You'll need to take a look at your lifestyle, if you're consuming lots you have your answer, if not it may be something medical related and the site is not geared up for that, a trip to your GP would be advised.
Hey erni, ok, there's some clues there, the human body is a pretty complex machine as I'm sure you're aware, when you think about it what it does is pretty amazing, we can all do amazing things if we put our minds to it. Sound's like you don't have a regular eating pattern, spreading your energy intake throughout the day helps our bodies perform at their peak, skipping meals can trick your body into going into starvation mode, where it will grab onto all the calories it can and store it as fat.
All this modern tech is great, but we need activity too. You don't need to run a marathon your first day, a 30 minute walk will do, take the stairs instead of a lift going up 2 or 3 floors, the little things add up. You need to take a look at what you're eating too, a lot of these convenience and processed foods are high calorie, quick to eat but quick to put on weight too.
Erni, what I suggest is you take a look at the BMI calculator here
nhs.uk/Livewell/weight-loss...
Fill in your details and it will give you the calorie range you NEED. Then take a log of everything you eat for a couple of days, don't eat anything different, just record everything you consume and check that against the calorie counter. MyFitnessPal app is free with ads & easy to use. You may be surprised at the difference. That will give you an idea of the imbalance. You can choose to have a lot of low calorie but bulky foods, or a little of high calorie foods, but you can't have a lot of high calorie foods or you'll blow your NEEDED calorie intake.
You'll notice NEED is in capitals, there's a big big difference between what your body NEEDS, and what you want. If you consume more than you NEED without additional exercise or activity to balance the extra out you will gain weight, it's that simple.
Thanks for your solutions, I'll try it..
Hi when I first joined I found out I wasn't eating enough Cals as I was only eating about 1000 and this was why I was overweight as my body thought I was starving it and turned what I did eat into body fat to ensure it could continue. This stops you from losing weight and sometimes means that you put weight on instead. I never found this out on any other diets and as soon as I changed this I started losing weight and have now lost 2st. I just wish I had gone for the higher calorie amount and not the lower amount as I actually want to eat more now because my body has got used to it but never mind I just have to deal with it. I am so pleased with the way my weight is going though and can't wait to get to the right amount and this is the first diet I have managed to properly lose weight on and that I have stuck to so my husband is so proud of me too. You will find you calorie allowance on the NHS bmi calculator and this gives you a personal allowance with all your exercise amounts added in but any others just tend to give everyone the same amounts. Good luck with your journey.
