Don't let it, if you do that the weight will have won! If you do the right thing you will see results, try doing measurements too. Are you using an ap to count your calories, even at least in the short term.....

in reply to Prin

Yes I'm using the calorie counter but haven't done measurements

Do measurements...scales can lie due to bone density, time of day, water retention and muscle mass biogenesis. So the above basically means keep on track coz you may have results but your scales are not budging because muscle weighs more than fat. So if your doing any cardio or resistance especially on legs you will stay the same for the beginning as leg muscles grow...but..they burn more calories than any other muscle group and you pr waistline can shrink when your scales do not. Keep at it...3 days is nothing. It takes 3500 calories to burn 1lb of fat which equates to 300 calorie deficit per day for 1 week....now you know the maths and science....you may realise why 3 days is a little outrageous to see true results :)

So keep at it, you have questions or support just repost there is a good community here :)

I know what you mean - I'm on day 1. I think the first week or two will be the most difficult, after that it will only get easier. I have decided to do my first weigh in on Monday only (haven't weighed myself in quite a while) and know it will be a shock, so prepare myself for that.

Weight loss or no weight loss in the first week, we have to believe it will eventually happen. The other success stories here are proof! In the beginning we are still training our bodies, and they are still adapting, so give it more time if week 1 is not perfect.

On the other hand, you may have lost a pound or two, which will inspire you!

I am going to use a lot of positive self-talk in the first two weeks.

If you want long term results, dont get overly stressed about short term goals. And dont count days. Whatever changes and improvements you are making need to be seen as permanent. Not something you are going to do for a limited time.

Don't give up just yet. I used to get frustrated when the scales didn't seem to move and then suddenly on weigh in day after 6 days of agonising I'd be 2lbs lighter.

I definately agree with what other posters have said. Do measurements as well. When I was pulling my hair out when the scale wasn't moving and I felt like I was trying my hardest.

Also think about the long term. Yes you may not have lost anything this week but you have spent the week eating healthy and exercising. You are treating yourself to a healthy and happy lifestyle.

I've been dieting since january and have lost 5st 5lbs so far. I'm maintaining that now as I've just discovered I'm pregnant which I'm over the moon about as it was one of my goals in starting my weight loss. Also I am now definately appreciating the fact that I know how to eat healthily in pregnancy. Things like not having too much caffeine or not eating for two and making sure my cravings are satisfied by healthier foods.

When I started in January my goal was just to loose weight each week as I've gone on through its changed more to what can I do to make sure I am healthy. Which is essentially what everyone needs to think about whether you needkto loose or not.

Come on!!!!

Tomorrow is another day. Just don't give up! Like me, just follow your dreams & weigh out will a chocolate bar make the difference?

I would rather like to look good than being naughty.

PLEASE THINK ABOUT YOUR HEALTH & YOUR LOVED ONES DO IT FOR THEM.

SCIENCE & common sence states that burn off the calories & eating healthy food equals to weight loss.

When you see the weight come off, you will automatically be motivated to keep it off & motivate other people.

Hi crosswinds09,

I'm afraid, weight loss isn't perfectly mathematical. Sometimes, for no apparent reason even though you're doing all the 'right' things you don't lose weight for a few days or even a couple of weeks.

Most people's weight loss journeys have their blips and spurts and sometimes even plateaux.

Try not to think of it as a race. Just make appropriate changes to your eating habits and up your exercise / activity a bit and your body will almost always adapt to those changes in due course.

If you are significantly overweight, then that is probably for exactly the same reasons in reverse, your body adapted to your poor eating habits by storing body fat. I bet that didn't happen overnight, now, did it?

The most common reason for people not succeeding on weight loss regimes is that they don't count everything they eat and drink and in fact don't reduce their calorie intake by as much as they would tell you they have.

It is frighteningly common. It ALL counts. The toppings, custards, sauces, lattes, gin and tonics, those "oh one won't make any difference" things, what you eat at home, what you eat at work, what you eat when out socialising, what you eat travelling between home and work, etc., etc.
