I want to lose 28 kilos in 2 months because i have prom . My current weight is 108 kilos, which diet is the best for me?

It's not going to happen plan b, try and lose some weight, move more and eat less, make sure what you do eat includes lots of non starchy veg, in 6 weeks time go out and get your prom suit make sure it's a good fit them go enjoy your prom! Then get back to the healthy eating and lose the rest of the weight

28kg in 9 weeks so approx 3kg per week. its going to take some doing but its not impossible.

You first need to understand whats needs to happen. Basically you need to burn more calories than you eat. So you need an exercise program of at least 4 days per week and a strict diet.

Go to ptprograms for free exercise workouts and have a read on what they say about losing weight, the following is an extract

How our metabolism works

Our metabolism is like a fire, when you start a fire you put x amount of logs on. To keep the fire burning you have to add some logs every couple of hours. This enables the fire to keep burning, same with metabolism.

Regular fuel

If you kick start your metabolism in the morning with a big breakfast it realises it can now start to burn energy, feeding it every two hours or so will keep using fuel so your metabolism has been sped up. If you don't feed the body regularly it will think you are starving it so it will retain body fat in case of emergencies.

Last meal each day

You want to make your last meal of the day your smallest because you are getting ready to shut your body down for rest. If you have excess fuel to burn it will automatically store as body fat, so try and eat three hours before you go to bed so food can digest and go easy on the carbohydrates.

Things to remember

1. Eat a big breakfast to get your metabolism going

2. Eat 4-6 meals per day to keep up metabolic rate

3. Stay between 30-40g of fat per day for females (30 to lose weight) and 40-50g for men (40 to lose weight)

4. If you want to eat your ice cream or chocolate allow for it in your 30/40g per day

5. Eat your smallest meal at night 2-3 hours before bed

6. Allow yourself one day per week where you can eat what you want

7. Learn what are good foods and how much fat is in them

8. Put large variety into your daily diet

9. Don't punish yourself for being overweight. Reward yourself for getting on to better health habits

10. To burn body fat try to exercise 3-4 times a week

11. Enjoy life, don't be so hard on yourself

the hardest battle is sticking to the plan, so be strong and you will get there

It's taken me two years to lose 20 kilos (I guess I could have been more focused) and I am I healthy weight now, although I've 10 more kilos to go to lose the unnecessary padding and be mid-range. I am also aware that I am never going to have a very defined waist (I'm female) However, I saw benefits much sooner. You could do something like start a Couch to 5K running programme - the UK NHS has podcasts anyone can download and use for free. That's a 9 week programme but it is nice and gentle and encouraging and I saw changes in body shape as a result. It would help you feel focused on the project and better about yourself *now* - and being comfortable in your own body, even if you are working on there being less of it long term, is going to be what makes you look good at the prom.

I think you would need to do a lot of hard work and also it would not be a safe option all diets will only work if you can stick to them and if possible go to the gym I would try and attend a slimmjng world. Group you won't starve. And you won't ever b hungry good luck

Not sure where the other replies to this are. However, I recommend starting on the advice from nhs.uk/LiveWell/weight-loss.... You may not lose all of your 28 kilos but you will be on a good start for the rest of your life to a healthy lifestyle. Good luck and enjoy your prom knowing that even if you haven't made it by then, you are well on the way.

You can lose the weight in time for your prom in 2015 - far more realistic! It took me six months to lose 20 kilos and that's very quick.

Losing 28 kilos in 2 months is completely unhealthy as well as being well nigh impossible. You didn't gain 28 kilos in 2 months so how do you expect to lose it in that time. It has taken me a full year to lose 22 kilos.

Use an app like My Fitness Pal to record every single thing you eat and keep your daily calorie intake between 2000 and 2500. Keep foods like cakes and sweets to an absolute minimum. Stay away from sugar loaded drinks like Coke and fruit juices. Take up some form of exercise and do it regularly.

Just try to lose as much as you can but don't be disappointed if it hasn't all gone by then. Keep going even after the prom and that excess weight will soon be gone.

Don't even go there.

A sensible and realistic (and safe and healthy) rate of weight loss is around 1 to 2 lbs a week on average. Max is really about 1 kg (2.2 lbs) a week. O.K. people often lose weight a tad faster at the begining due to fluid loss and most people's weight loss journey's have their blips and spurts.

But the notion of losing 28 kilos in 2 months is really unwise and actually quite dangerous.

To do that you would probably have to put yourself onto a Very Low Calorie Diet, which is something that should only be undertaken under professional medical supervision.

Why? Well because it would involve eating very little so you would be at serious risk of mal-nourishing yourself and the lack of some nutrients over an extended period can have serious health consequences.

There is just so much more to losing weight than calorie deficit. Losing weight or otherwise, your body needs a full range of nutrients, that includes vitamins and minerals and anti-oxidants and essential fatty acids and many many other things too.

O.K., no - it doesn't need the huge amount of fats and sugars you've probably been eating if you've ended up 28 kgs overweight. So set about doing something about that sensibly, safely and healthily.

In the final analysis, any old plonker can lose weight fast - just stop eating. And the health consequences of that? It's called starvation and it's not a very nice place to be.

Oh but I'll eat a wee bit. And the health consequences of that? Ever come across someone who has anorexia?

If you're going to lose weight - which I heartily encourage - then do it sensibly. It takes time for your body to change to new ways.

I lost about that amount of weight and I took a tad over six months to do it - and even that really was a bit too fast
