Weekly Report...Must try harder!!!

Well I mustered all my courage and went down to Boot's in the rain and climbed the mighty scales.

Interestingly I seem to have grown 0.4 inches.

Less pleasingly, I have lost a mere pound. GUTTED! :(

How do the scales determine that you've grown? I haven't used one of those shop scales for a long time so I don't remember how they work. I do my weigh-ins on the Wii Fit balance board. ;-) Last week I did my first weigh in for at least a fortnight, and I had gained 10 lbs. :-O I then promptly lost 5 lbs by moving the balance board off the hard floor onto a carpet. :-/ I've gone back to only using it on the carpet now, as that's what I'd always done before (in the process of redecorating, so half the room is carpeted!).

You've lost weight this week, so you are going in the right direction. :-) Personally I'm aiming for a 1-2 lbs loss per week (after my freak start!!) so I would be smiling and pleased that what I'm doing is having the desired effect. :-)

Hi Runningman,

Losing a pound is really good - honestly! You should congratulation yourself, and I would like to congratulate you on your loss, as it is to be celebrated, not berated. :-)

Healthy weight loss is between 1 to 2 pounds per week, so you are losing at a healthy rate.

Have a good week.

Lowcal :-)

I only lost a 1lb on my first week too (last week) trying to stay positive but I tried really hard. I only want to lose a few pounds and I'm within my BMI but I did over 3 hours exercise in my frst week!! Still its the long terms loss that counts so thats giving me some comfort : )

Thanks for the encouragement. The scales at Boots electronically measure your height and weight for 50p.

I use these now because my own scales could be changed depending on which way I leaned...and I leaned myself a stone lighter than I really am. They are now in the bin.

Our scales in Boots are exactly the same (you don't live in Richmond, do you, lol?). I threw my home scales out when I started weighing myself numerous times a day and obsessing about it all. Like the others say, losing a pound is fine, it's in the right direction and there are so many factors that can influence your weight - especially as a woman! Keep going, we are with you all the way!

Thanks Soozz. ( I live near Castleford)

I get colliwobbles just thinking about weigh ins, but I Will go down to Boots again on Monday. (That's the one in Castleford not Richmond...that would be silly!!!)
