Birthday treat

I started on Monday and so far so good. But have been given a birthday treat of a long weekend away with a champagne lunch. Sounds terrific but a bit early for a reward. I plan to think about what I am eating but could be a challenge.

I have had a couple of weekends away and it has been fine thankfully I love fish, so for example had kippers or porridge for breakfast, seafood for lunch and chose fish for dinner but had a few glasses of wine, didnt loose any weight that week but didnt gain any either. Enjoy your weekend away and Happy Birthday :)

I have been losing weight since January however it is a life style choice and I spent two weeks for my birthday all inc at Sandals and ate and drank exactly what I wanted - including the best chocolate buffet ever! I put on 4lbs but came back and knuckled down to it and am now 1.5 stones lighter. I still go out - curry tomorrow, so will eat less in the day and miss the popadoms - I only ever ate them because everyone else was, so providing you can get back on the waggon then go and enjoy yourself! The longer you go on hopefully you swill start to make different food choices, the good thing is that you have started rather than 'waiting'for events to be finished because there always seems to be some excuse! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, enjoy

I had 10 days of meals out, family visiting when I ate what I wanted to, possibly smaller portions sometimes (but not often) and enjoyed glasses of wine. I had a shock - I put on 9 lbs. It was very difficult to get focussed again, but with the support on here, I managed it (once again, thank you). After one week of walking, sticking to 1400 calories, I dropped 8 lbs and got back on track.

I think as long as you are aware of what you are doing and get back on track quickly, you will be ok. Can you incorporate any exercise whilst away - walking, swimming - walk up any stairs at the hotel, don't take the lift :-)

Enjoy your weekend away, Happy Birthday, and remember that you are in this for the long term (hopefully) and life (and its challenges) will still happen.

Good luck.

Happy birthday, I feel as long as you stick to small portions and drink water between meals, I find it stops the need to eat more or think about food as much. Treat yourself and dont allow yourself to guilt trip :)
