Welcome to our virtual walking group. We are here to support and encourage. I always find that being part of a group helps to keep the motivation going and makes it more fun.
Whatever the walking goals you are working towards is fine, it is all about encouraging each other to achieve those little goals as we progress.
Please feel free to post as many times as you like through the week and the at the beginning of the new week I will put a new post up. I'm going to number the posts but that's more for my benefit but if you want to use the weeks to set yourself goals please do.
Wishing you a happy healthy week and happy walking. πΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπππ.

A few walks for me last week. Hehe my biggest walking day was walking around the sales. It still counts as a big walk day though as I got up to 17,000 steps that day ππΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈπΆββοΈ. I was a bit tired afterwards though.
I managed a 5K and a 5.5K walk in my quest to get to 20 miles. I now realise that is 32K, which sounds fairly daunting. I initially thought I would stretch my walk by half a K a week, but I don't think that will be enough. I will see where we are after the holidays! I am discovering parts of my town which I haven't found before, and I always try and fit a coffee stop in en route, so I am having quite a lot of fun!
Monday was a good day 11,800 steps, only 5,000 yesterday so got myself organised this morning walked to and from work then had another walk after tea 18,700 steps in total today πΆπΌββοΈπ
I went for a walk this evening after dinner.. I keep finding signs that say footpath... they are just so inviting!! I have to investigate!!
So my walk had me carrying my little dog for a good part of it through grass that was too tall for her (Sheep & lambs, Cows & calves and long grass so she could'nt see where to go and she was getting covered in seeds) so it was a walk with weights!! We ended up doing 3.5 miles and my pedometer says 13253 steps today, I was pleased with that!
I try to get a walk every day, so would love to join your group...
Cheering us all on.. ππππππΆπ½πΆπ½ββοΈππ»ββοΈππΌπΆπ½πΆπ½ββοΈπππππ
Well done Minniewinny, I did something similar yesterday. Near my house we have lots of little guinnels/walkways between houses and I found a new way through to my destination that led my through a wooded area which was lovely.
I clocked up almost 20,000 steps yesterday. It started with a 1.5 mile walk to work. I had forgotten that i was running the road safety activities with the children (I work in a primary school) I had 5 groups walking just over half a mile each and I then walked home. In the evening I met a friend for a pilates class walking to and from it.
Today I only managed 7000 steps as I needed to drive to work. I am hoping all these steps will help me to lose a lb or 2 this week π€
Enjoy your new adventures walking with your dog Minniewinny, I'm sure your dog will enjoy them too!βΊ
You did cover a lot of ground... Exercise at work and being paid for it... That's good planning!!
Wishing you success with your weight loss.. if the weight doesn't move as you'd like, the tape measure will surely smile at you π
I cant resist new walkways, footpaths, alleyways etc. Hubby doesn't come with me as my walks are too much for him, (he has cerebral palsy) our dog was wiped out last night.. and she's still sleeping ππ
My average is lower than yesterday, but saw this post and thought I'd join in.
