Hi, i got diagnosed with pcos this year, I've had vaginal ultrasound scan done, was prescribed metaformin off the doctors, which ive had the usually stomach issues but found coffee can make it worse. Since starting the medication on the 8th of sept 2023 i had a period after 6 week of being on it, but now i have gone over 8 week without one, i lost a stone in 9 weeks. ive had a phone call for the gynecologist fertility clinic for this thursday so hopefully something can be done, as i want to start a family.

Hi Elisha, I’ve just got my diagnosis so am heavily researching at this point. I came across PCOS coach Nikki on tiktok and she has a community group on Facebook where people share experiences you may also find useful! I’ve noticed people share things on there that relate to your story.

Hi! If you are trying to conceive I recommend taking vitD and folic acid. PCOS can make it hard to have enough vitD so you should convince your GP to test this. As you were given metformin probably you are insulin resistant, and it's good that you are losing weight but you might need to lose a bit more until your hormones balance out.

Please make sure your partner is also tested for infertility, as even though fertility issues are very common in PCOS it might not be only your side.

Hopefully your fertility clinic doctor will help you, good luck!

Hi, thanks i had full blood count vitamin levels are okay, I do take b12 folic acid because ive heard that metaformin can lower it, my partner was okay he had semen analysis.

Cool, but don't forget pregnant people need more vitD than normal (that's why all pregnancy supplements have it). It takes time to build vitD reserves, so folic acid + vitD is a great combo for people TTC! Best of luck 🤞

Hi Elisha, I wrote a long reply to Afive, but in short I recommend you look at taking inofolic. Listen to this podcast, section 24 mins to 40 mins is all about pcos.castbox.fm/vb/118525298

If the link doesnt work go to 'big fat negative' podcast, episode 8.

I also recommend the book 'it starts with the egg', lots of info on improving egg quality for natural and assisted conception.
